Was wondering if anyone knows if the idea of a reviewer chat room has been brought up before if there is any interest in one.

Seems we discussed a yahoo group before, but the person who was going to get it going has since left EF.

I'm game for participation - although I don't want to be the one to set it up because well... I'm actually a poser when it comes to computer stuff.

That sounds cool to me I'd be up for setting one up..

Haven't used the expert help in quite some time but that allowed one on one chatting between the individual and a represenative from EF. Just thought if there was enough interest then they might be able to expand upon the concept. I guess we are semi-posers; know how to chat but don't know how to set up a chat room.

It sounds like it could be a really nice addition to the community if it's doable for EF.
07/13/2009
I consider Twitter something of a big chat room at times. I like your idea though.

I've been thinking about something like this lately... I'm not sure how it would expand upon the expert help.. care to elaborate on that, Peg?

Actually, it would be incredibly easy to set one up on Meebo. About one minute's worth of work. If people are interested I can do that this evening.

I think that I'd love the idea of a chat room!

This is a nice idea - the "old" idea was a private forum/place for advanced reviewers (if I remember correctly), but this new idea, just having a chat room on the site - well that could be really cool! Maybe something that EF will think about doing in a future update, cause I imagine it would take a decent amount of work.

I think a chat room would be great!
07/14/2009
Great idea. I just got Skype since I fond out it is free have not used it yet I didn't know it could be used like that.

When we first found EF when you clicked the Expert help link a new window would open and list the experts and thier status (on or off line). If they were online you could click on them and a chat window would open and you could ask product related questions in real time and they would also provide links to where a certain product was located on the site. I thought maybe EF could expand that type of function to the reviewers and have real time conversations with fellow reviewers. I think it's great that there are people willing to set something up on other sites but I figured if you logged into you account on EF you would be able to jump right into the EF chat room. Hope my rambling makes sense.

Yeah, we reviewers tend to get a little obnoxious on Twitter when we're bored.

I guess I just don't see how reviewers communicating is necessarily related to the Expert Help.. Perhaps we were expecting different things but when I read "chat room" I thought goofy/funny/off the clock discussions - which is also why an off-site chat sprang to my mind.

I was only using expert help as an example that EF had a "chat room" capability. You were spot on with the expectation of the chat room experience, just a place to have fun and have the conversations in real time.

I don't know anything about skype, but it does need to be downloaded which makes it a nuisance in my mind. Someone else may want to set that up. Meebo is an online chat coordinator.
link
I use it for all of my yahoo and aim accounts. I think you use it for more. Once there go to "meebo rooms" and search for "Eden_Fantasies" That should bring it up.
(I'm logging off to go cook dinner though..)

So a room here is sounding better and better

A Meebo account is pretty fast and easy to set up.

*Bump*
A meebo chat room is set up. Sammi, Peg, and myself have all stopped by. It's not really working because we don't have any activity there.
Thoughts? Anyone actually still interested?

Stop by the Meebo room on occassion to see if anyone has used it, would be kind of neat to talk to fellow reviewers in "real time".

There isn't a link specific for that "room." You need to actually sign into Meebo at link. Then you can search for Eden Fantasies and add the chat room to your profile. I checked today from a different Meebo account than the one that I signed up with.

I like Meebo. I can add yahoo accounts, Aim accounts, and I believe a few others, then access them all in one browser window from any computer.

Happy to walk anyone through the process as needed..

"Rocking with a cock" room found the chat room without a Meebo account. Logged in as a guest. I'm there now just trying to get it up and running - cause I'm on the computer.

Hehe, yeah I did. I thought I could log in with my Google Talk info, but that didn't work. I might get a Meebo account. I think I just searched for "Eden Fantasies" (Yes, without a y).
