Can we get a "Sticky Thread" option?

Contributor: Kindred Kindred
Can I request that we get a "Sticky Thread" option to keep important threads at the top of the list? Topics such as important announcements, Rumble votes, etc. would benefit by keeping these topics easily accessible and at the top of the list. Thanks.

That's a really good idea, as long as it's moderated so they are removed or allowed to move down if they are temporary. I'd hate the entire first page to be Rumbles from weeks ago. But, instructional posts are sometimes hard to find, and it would be good if they had a place to keep them.

Perhaps "stickeys" could be used when you click on each subforum.

Haha I was thinking the same things. There is another forum that I belong to and it's gotten so bad at times that there has been a full page and a half of sticky topics. But I agree, it might help so that that aren't as many repeated threads.

One way to deal with too many stickied posts, and I agree that they can get irksome if there are too many, is to make them disappear via clicking on an x at the upper right corner. For example, the first thread in the list of sex forum threads could read "Sticky Threads" and be open by default when you navigate to the sex forum. Then, so you don't have to deal with the threads after that, you could just close it, with only "Sticky Threads" remaining as the first thread. It could be again made available with a quick mouseover or by clicking on a "+".

I imagine the ability to do this is possible, as clicking the Links and formatting "i" above where you post allows for a similar mouseover effect, and clicking the x that lists all the subfora collapses them and leaves "Categories." The categories can then be reopened by clicking on the "+" the the left of the word.

What about the section on the left hand side of the community page? It lists the recent rumble threads, the weekly round up, and about club meetings and when new threads are posted about new programs, etc., they show up there as well.

I agree! It's getting to the point that I am starting to shy away from the forums, period.

I'm not sure I grasp the concept of sticky thread.(Tired) It would be nice though to be able to put certain threads in a folder instead of everthing I comment on goes into the one tab. It would be nice to put things I find informational in one folder and my games in another.

I think that this is a wonderful idea. It seems the really great posts get lost and buried. I would love to have them stuck to the top of the forums for people to read before asking questions. Although, I still think the questions will get asked but at least the great posts will not get buried.
