When EF says x% off on ALL __(toy category here)__ and they are not ALL x% off!

Contributor: Stinkytofu10 Stinkytofu10
For example, right now EF is doing a promotion with 25% off on ALL vibrators. I just checked, because I really wanted to get a JeJoue for my GF, and they are not on sale. I find many luxury brands that my GF actually wants are usually not included in any promotion with the word "ALL" in them. Do you notice this too? How do you feel about it?

I'm not trying to be unappreciative of EF, but I think it's more informative for the consumer if the advertisement said "25% off SELECTED vibrators."

I don't really care, because luxury brands are understandably almost never on sale.

I don't really care if toys are on sale or not - I can afford them anyways.
I care, because it's misleading advertising.

Why can't EF advertising just change "ALL" to "most"?

I care, because the brands that are exempt from "ALL" deserve the full price tag.
I have another suggestion, and it is...(post your suggestion!)

I would much prefer it said "select" instead of "all." Since, you know, it's not really "all." I don't mind if they don't put everything on sale. It's up to them what they want to put on sale. I don't like when something says "all" but means "some."

I had a disappointing experience involving this very topic earlier today. I had my heart set on a We-Vibe Tango, and it's one of the toys not on sale.

When I see "25% off on all vibrators" I expect all vibes to be on sale. If it said "most" or "select," I wouldn't have been so disappointed. At least one banner mentions that some brands are exempt, but then it should still say "most" instead of "all."

I'd be much happier if they say "25% off selected vibrators". I don't want to debate about whether luxury brand should be on sale or not. EF can choose what they want to put on sale or not.
However, to advertise "25% off ALL vibrators" when it's not the case is very misleading. I think EF should be honest in their advertisement.

I agree with the above contributors, they should use the word "selected" instead of "all".

I just assume the high end ones aren't included

Truthfully even with a sale the high end stuff is still over priced

Have you thought about contacting an Admin if you don't care for the wording? Writing about it on the forum is nice, but I don't see how anything could get done, except ticking off some people. If you contact one of them, I'm sure they would be more than happy to adjust it.

I'm between "I care" and "I don't care." On one hand, it IS a bit misleading, but I don't even buy high-end toys, so it doesn't apply to me.

Agreed. Put what you like on sale, just market it appropriately.

I pretty much expected it. I did get excited to see that because I'm saving up for a We-Vibe Salsa but I just knew it wouldn't be on the list, and it isn't. It would be nice but I can just use a buyout if I want that discount. I already have 3 reviews I have to do so I'll probably just use my 15% code so I don't have to shove another review in such a short time. And I'm too anxious to get it to wait to get my other things and try them out and review.

I kind of did too, but I got my hopes up for a second there. The Salsa is next on my list, too.

I also was disappointed because the toy I had planned to be my next purchase was not on sale - the Uma from Je Joue. But surprisingly, the Realdoe was included in the sale, and I bought that instead. I'm not sure why the Realdoe was included in a vibrator sale. It has a bullet vibrator, but the toy itself isn't exactly a vibrator, or at least that's not its primary function. Weird...

I agree that it would be better listed as "Select" or "Exclusions apply."

I didn't even think to check if any of the more luxury brands were listed!

I wrote a support ticket about this the first time I noticed it. The sale said 25% off all vibrators, and when I checked, the Little Chroma was not included. Customer service e-mailed me back saying that some companies choose not to be included in the promotions, and they apologized for the inconvenience. They did not adjust the price. However, the next promotion did include it.

We were so excited because we were waiting to be able to afford a really nice vibrator, and when we saw "25% off ALL VIBRATORS," we were going to spring for it. I spent a TON of time today browsing the site, hoping there was just some coding error that wouldn't give the discount to the Lelo we have our eyes on. In the end I opened a support ticket.

Thanks for all of your responses, I'm glad that many others have also noticed this. I will be opening a support ticket and kindly ask why such wording is used. Feel free to continue to add your opinions and input.

It annoyed me for half a second sure there wording is a little off there for a bit confusing. Then I'm over it because I already get everything on edens for next to nothing anyway.

They could just change all to "select." But I don't really care, it's their choice.

Hey guys. We'll be updating that banner to reflect "select." CS was correct, there are particular manufacturers who ask not to be discounted when we run large promotions, but it's a very, very small percentage of toys compared to the overall number of products that are on sale.

When planning such a big sale, we thought it better to let you guys know that the entire category was on sale, rather than just g-spot vibes, or rabbits. We'll update the banners, and keep "select" in mind for the future. Thanks for the feedback.

The first banner they used said "The offer is not valid for Jimmyjane, JeJoue, and Jopen and some other brands." The banner they send you in the email if you signed up for sale alerts says "The offer is not valid for Jimmyjane, JeJoue, and Jopen and some other brands." If you click on the front page sale banner, it even says "exclusions apply".

A change would be nice. I was rather excited when I saw that ALL vibrators would be on sale, but the one I've been looking at for ages wasn't included.
