Was I wrong for doing this?

First of all, there is a part of me that is very glad that I did what I did. However, there is a part of me that wonders if I was wrong because Eden is so generous with us.

I had $100 in gift cards for some writing I've submitted for the EdenLitBlog and the Eden Cafe. I was going to save them for Black Friday but yesterday I made advanced reviewer status and wanted desperately to get SOMETHING for myself.

I started reading about the video reviews and at one point in time I read where they were trying to get people to do video reviews on some of the toys that are lower "price-points" - aka under $25. Many people want to review the more expensive toys but not the less expensive ones.

So I sorted my favorite category (vibrators) by things that I like in a vibrator and made a list of the less expensive ones that I thought it might be fun to try. I contacted the video review person and asked for permission to do video reviews on those products (before sending in the order) and once she said she could take a video review on each of them - I placed my order using my gift cards and points.

So basically, I used my gift cards and about $9 in points to do buy-outs on some assignments so that I could turn around and reviews AND video reviews and earn more points and gift cards for the Black Friday sale.

I will say that I only chose things that I thought I'd be interested in and I thought if I did some reviews and video reviews it might help EF sales during the holiday season as sometimes people are looking for less expensive gifts as stocking stuffers, etc.

But now I feel guilty - and I don't know why.

I do know that when my package gets here we'll be having lots of fun!

Oh - and I also got permission to do some video reviews on the reviews I've already written! YEAH!!!!

I do reviews on pretty much everything I buy no matter how I buy it - out of pocket, points, assignment, etc. I don't see a problem using points to buy something and then doing a review on that product and earning more points, if that's what the question is.

Good luck with the video reviews!

No way, don't feel guilty! You earned those gift cards for work, and you will earn more points for work as well! You are totally using their site and their program the way it was designed.

I agree with the above statements! For the most part I use gift cards or points for my purchases and just cover what they won't pay for which usually isn't much but I am sure to review everything I receive even if it was a free gift or something I paid for out of pocket.

Don't feel guilty, because you are helping the site! You are giving reviews for the products sold here, to help others make decisions to buy (or in some cases NOT to buy) certain products! You help the site and the site gives back to you! That's what the cards and points program is for.

So just enjoy and think of all the people you'll help to make their future purchase decisions

The system is set up to reward people like you!! You put in your time and effort to participate and generate information to the millions (that's right, millions) of EF visitors to the site. Your input and everyone else who participates helps EF sell their wares. They want you to use the system they put in place to keep you active! Buy, use, review and enjoy guilt free!
