Hi pplz,
Not having an attack at EF or anything (i love the site) but for some reason im getting crazy tax when delievered to Canada...

I bought $120 of stuff.. cost $17 tax.
$80 was no tax...

then got a $200 prize from halloween and cost me $60 to take from post office
i dont ahve this issue in Australia, but Ca gets massive taxes.
Am i doing something wrong??

Canada and other countries impose duties on goods to prevent cheap imports and promote buying in their own country. I don't think it has anything to do with EF. I know from camera forums, Canadians often avoid buying (cheaper) from the US, because of the duties imposed make it more expensive.

That's a bummer! Like Trysexual said, I don't think it has to do with EF, but rather importing.

I didnt really think it was an EF thing, but in reality im confused, how do they determine "hey im going to charge this guy $60 tax for $200 items" and only $17 for $150... and then $0 for $85 of items!!!

Theres no structure to it.

Just a pain, and annoying as i guess ive never had to deal with this being in Aus. Totally took the fun out of shopping on EF

How about placing multiple smaller orders? IE two 85 orders?
