Shipping on Liberator stuff overseas .....

For those internationally wanting Liberator stuff...

I'm planning an order hopefully next week and thought I'd do a dummy cart run with the BonBon to see what the shipping would be all up.
I add all my items I want - there is 19 all up including the BonBon.

Then I look down and the only shipping option is through my personal favourite DHL to Australia. Then I almost have a heart attack cause the shipping says - brace yaself ..... $185.50. No typos there!
An extra $135 just to ship BonBon. F#*K!
Much more and I could visit the US and take it back with me.

Now I kinda wish I had of bought the BonBon way back
I know I won't be buying any more. They have great shapes, but they aren't worth paying that kind of shipping for!!!

I almost had a heart attack too! My wife got wing and didn't have to pay any extra shipping and was put off by the added shipping at $35 but $135 to ship the bonbon? Seriously wtf. Who can afford to pay that kind of shipping for ANYTHING?

That shipping is laughable!

$185 to ship it here? Do we live in the fucking antarctic or something?
I can't believe they expect us to pay that much!
Or do they? Is this a way to put off buying the liberator gear internationally?

Just to make a point, the fuck me silly dolls weigh more and they don't cost anything extra to ship? I'm really confused by this, I would have guessed it was because of weight and size but those dolls weigh more and have to be of a substantial size too.

I'm not defending or bashing the shipping costs, I already voiced my thoughts about it a month ago, however to address LingaLoo's example, part of what determines the shipping cost is the volume of the container.

To compare (rough estimates):

Flip Ramp (folded)
Dimensions: 19" x 19" x 14" (volume = 5054)
Weight: 22 lb

FMS1
Dimensions: 14" x 13" x 10" (volume = 1820)
Weight: 22lb

FMS2
Dimensions: 21" x 12" x 6" (volume = 1512)
Weight: 12 lb

Speaking in terms of volume, the Liberator pieces are much larger.

ETA: All of the above aside, I couldn't see paying $135 shipping on any Liberator piece short of the Esse or Zeppelin.

I get where you are coming from and I did the math for myself but I wasn't comparing a ramp because it is much larger and that would just be silly. I compared a liberator product and a FMS toy of reasonably similar size and weight. This is where the discrepancy lies.

I wouldn't be buying ANY damn thing for 135$ shipping. Sorry.

True, the BonBon and Jaz are at the smaller end of the Liberator range however, I've never seen their packaging. I have only the Flip Ramp and the Heart Wedge to go by, both of which were smartly packaged but still towards the larger end of the delivery box spectrum. It's my guess that all liberator shapes are made and packaged in a manner that puts them over the 'maximum length girth' (example at USPS website — click the size tab) used by most US shipping companies.

The toys may be of similar size and heavier, but since most of them are packaged for shipment to begin with (i.e. they are made outside of the USA), I would wager the manufacturer and distributor are well aware of the requirements and makes sure the items are under the maximum measurement.

I feel for you, I really do. I was not happy over $10~$20 increase, so I imagine your frustration over the $135 is tenfold. My hope is that EF will re-examine Liberator shipping options, and maybe in the future offer less expensive shipping choices, or at least a sliding scale based on size (since I really believe there must be a difference in cost between shipping a Jaz and shipping a Ramp Wedge Combo).
