I said this once in a forum post, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating myself. However, does anyone else wish there was a quanties available counter next to the products. This way you know how many are left in stock before buying. Maybe this way it can help reduce backorders? I know it might be a stretch, but it would still be nice.
Anyone interested in a "Quanties available counter" on product pages?

It could be a good idea but getting it to update quick enough for the next order might be a problem. Lets say that 2 people submit orders within seconds of each other for the same product and there is only one available, the second order should become a back order and the counter will not prevent this from happening.

I agree that a quantities counter would be great! I've even thought a "when it's gone, it's gone" icon would be cool, so you'd know to grab it before it gets discontinued.
That being said, rather than making multiple forum posts to suggest an idea, why not take it to the monthly Build a Better Eden thread? That way you're officially suggesting it to someone who can do something to make it happen.

I'd like to see a low stock warning at least.

I would love that!

I always thought it would be useful!

That would help so much, things are always going out of stock just when I want to order them, and it can be quite frustrating.

I would love that to be done I have stuff still on backorder.

Not a bad idea.

Great idea.

It would be nice to have it show something like "Limited quantities...order now before it's gone" or something similar.

That would be really nice!

I like the idea. I would also love to know that the item will be discontinued after the current stock is out. So many times, when the last thing is sold, that's it. No restock. Item discontinued.
I know...I sound like a whiny baby.

That would be great. I also agree with SilverMinxxx about the discontinued idea.

That's a great idea. There are other websites that I frequent, like sockdreams.com, and they do a sort of, "only 3 left in stock!" kind of warning when the quantity of an item dwindles down. It can be helpful when you're saving up points for something, and you almost have it, then when you go to get it, you realize it's gone, or it's about to be discontinued. It would be a nice feature.

Sounds good in theory, but making it happen is another story.
