Principessa beauty bag

When I first noticed the Principessa beauty bag on the site, I LOVED the cherry blossom imagery. I thought it was such a pretty reusable tote and that I would probably get it soon. BUT then I noticed the pink ribbon. Please do not get me wrong, I am absolutely in support of breast cancer research. I'm sympathetic to the issues and struggles that those with breast cancer and those that they love have to face.

However, I could not help but wonder why there was a pink ribbon on the bag, I mean, are they donating to breast cancer research? If so, who are they donating to, and how much? Eden did not have any of this information listed. Personally, I have issues with the Susan G. Komen foundation, so I was hoping they were not involved with this bag in any way, but there are plenty of ways to support research without supporting Susan G. Komen.

Eden says nothing about breast cancer or donations on the product's page, so I did some hunting around the internet. Every other website that had this bag said the same thing: "The Principessa Borsetta Tote Bag is an environmentally friendly tote bag available for a limited time. This super cute bag not only helps you avoid using plastic bags from the grocery store, but $1 from the sale of EVERY BAG will be donated straight to breast cancer research. Featuring a pink ribbon and a whimsical floral design, along with a convenient pocket, this tote bag is absolutely adorable! The quote on the front reads: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." - Helen Keller"

So now I know that $1 from each bag is donated. But...to where? To who? To what? I still think it is a very pretty bag, but I can't be comfortable buying this until I know.

Wow thanks for noticing that. I did not even see that. Also thanks for the information I am going to put this in my alerts so I can find out more when you do. Have you tried writing to a Admin to see if they may know anything?

I have not. Not sure who I would write to..just create a support ticket? My first thought was to look up any info I could find and share it with the community, see if any of the members had any thoughts or info.

You could try creating a support ticket. I was wondering if one of the Eden Link people would know something about that stuff.

Wow, that's crazy! I didn't know that there was all that strange Planned Parenthood stuff behind that campaign. I don't feel like a breast cancer research donation group has anything being pro- or ant- choice. That's like the Make-a-wish foundation being pro- or anti-choice. They should just focus on being pro- or anti- cancer. :/

Maybe you could contact a representative from the company? I didn't even notice the pink ribbon!

Well, I just created a support ticket. Hopefully I hear back soon, and I will share whatever feedback I get.

I would like to know also. I don't like to "donate" unless I know where the money is going.

I love this bag, but I too have problems with the Susan G. Komen foundation's rescinding their support of Planned Parenthood.

The image of the back of the bag confirms that a portion of the proceeds are donated to breast cancer research, but Eden isn't donating the money, I don't think, Principessa is. I checked their website on the product page and FAQ and it says nothing other than "breast cancer research". I am curious about it as well, and I emailed them to ask. I'll let you know what I find out.

You emailed Principessa? If so, awesome, because then we can hear directly from the company. I'm waiting on Eden to get back to me with what they know.
