I read several including the highest and lowest ratings.
Oh yes, that’s the SEX TOY I’m going to buy!

This is what I also do. I takes me a long time for not just toys but anything on here or any other site I am going to purchase from.

Usually it is a fact of, "do I have the points to get it?". I know for me, it is by sight alone that makes me want it. When I was curious about two toys, I read all the reviews that were up on any and every website, and I still bought the toys I was after.
I also talk to some other toy appreciators I know, as they read my blog, know what I like and don't like, and they can offer some really great ideas.

Usually 3 to 4 but If I'm going to buy something really expensive I'll probably read many more.

I try to read the highest-rated reviews first, then pick through the other ones. I look for things like smell, taste, battery-life, etc etc in reviews; if any of those things are a consistent 'good' or 'bad' I either yes or no the product. XD
05/11/2012
If I have a specific question that the reviews don't address, then I'll start a discussion post. Usually, I'll find a review on EF that covers everything though.

I read most of the reviews available, but unfortunately, there's not many things I don't want.

i like to have two read, but if it comes down to a hard decision between products that number will quickly raise exponentially depending on how tough the choice is

I read a bunch of stuff, try to watch videos, etc.

It depends on the product, if it is a big purchase it requires a little more research than a twenty dollar item

I usually read over 10 if the reviews are mixed. If most of the reviews are 4 or 5 stars, then I usually only read a couple.
05/12/2012
Usually just two reviews. More if it's a new type of product, though.
05/16/2012
I usually read a review or two

I agree with you. I wonder if the 'Cons' have a greater influence whether or not your make a purchase of a sex toy? Maybe I should start a thread asking just that question.

i clicked on the wrong bubble when i voted

It depends entirely on what the toy is, for bondage gear and kink items I read pretty much all the reviews if there's less than 15-20, but for toys like vibrators and dildos I tend to read about 5-7 of the reviews.

i like to see pics in the reviews! or a video! those are what ultimately make the decision.. i wanna see what it looks like when it arrives not what the manufacturer wants you to see of it thats why all of mine include pics... i've got my eye on a new toy now and am just saving up the points to purchase it! yay
06/24/2012
depends on the toy but usually at least three, if they're all in agreement then I'm good, if they disagree then I read some more
06/24/2012
I usually read all the reviews there are on the toy (unless there's more than 20) then I read the most useful ones.

So, from your perspecitve, it appears that what the review writer put for PROS or CONS are not as important as say the pictures or the videos? I find that when doing a comparison list, you only see the PROS and CONS along with measurements, price, and picture, etc.

It depends.

I always read the pros and cons of the reviews. I tend to read 3-4 reviews before I make a decision on a product.

I like reading 2. One that is favorable and one that isn't preferably. If they seem really different I may read a third.
07/02/2012
i usually read 3 reviews.

It depends on how many reviews are available, the cost of the toy, and if I know anyone with personal experience with it. As we are all different in the way our bodies are made and react what gets rave reviews from several people may be the worst product out there for me.
07/07/2012
2-3 positive reviews, plus a sale will do it for me.
07/07/2012
If I really like how a toy looks and the materials, it doesn't take much to persuade me. At least two good reviews and I'm sold. Haha.
07/08/2012
I will read anywhere from 4-6.

You have made a great point about how you interpret the Review. But I do believe that the more reviews someone reads, the better informed you will be. I also find that the value of a review should reflect the person's experience as well, which is all the more valuable. Thanks for sharing.
