Ok, I live in China.
(Like my name doesn't give that one away)
And for a long while, I was limited as to what I could purchase because I always had to look at the company's homepage and try to search for the voltage, and wattage and all that other fun stuff when electronics are shipped from one country to another that are not battery operated but by power cord.
I never could have a Fairy Wand, or the Eroscillator, or even the Hitachi. And then trying to search for information on Lelo, Fun Factory, Je Joue and all the other wonderful rechargeable toys... I had to spend hours and hours searching to see if I could plug them into my wall, or if I had to just forget about buying the item.
A friend of mine sent a ticket to Customer Service asking if on the product page if it were possible to have the electrical information mentioned as there are a lot of us who order from EdenFantasys from around the globe.
The reply she received was, "they all can work in America."
Which unfortunately, didn't really help much until we read that quite a few of the recharging toys are universally power friendly.
However toys like the Eroscillator, the Hitachi cannot be used outside of North America without a transformer.
Not an adapter.
One of the issues of using an adapter is that the items/product/electric al thingie, will work but it adds so much strain to the motor. And as a result, making it wear out faster. So instead of a hair dryer lasting you for five years, or a life long sex toy, a hair dryer might last you less than a year of daily use, and a sex toy will last you a few years of frequent use, before the motor burns out.
Please note if you are travelling for a couple of weeks, usually an adaptor will be suitable for most types of electronics. Please pay special attention to your lap top/camera/phone information as many companies have gone the way of international plug ins.
International adapters/ transformers for travelling and international members should they be an option for buying here at EF?

I haven't but that's simply because I've never traveled internationally or otherwise. I've never been outside of the tri-state area.

*facepalm*
I forgot to mention plug adapters in this!!! Plug adapters are used to change the change the prong shape of the cord, but only good if your volts are compatible to the country you are in.

Never thought about it - it's an interesting idea though! I would think that there would be a market for it here on EF.
That said, I have a travel outlet adapter that I picked up before I went to Europe for a vacation. They're not expensive and you can get them at places that carry luggage or electronic shops.

Yes, though when I moved to Italy, all of my toys required batteries. I wish I had rechargeable toys though!

I don't think Eden has interest of expanding to non-English Speaking markets. Yes, they ship to many countries, and they probably have many foreign customers. I doubt they will carry item catered to foreign customers.
Whenever I am out of the US, I am only out of the country for at most a month. So this isn't one of my worries. Whenever I travel internationally, I pack the minimum possible, and come back with the maximum This is especially true for China. So much nice cheap fashion, I don't have room to pack toys
If I were to live in another country permanently, I will buy toys from the local vendors.

So far I haven't bought any rechargeable toys because the price is too high for the ratings in many cases.

I do agree that something should be provided for international users and that electrical information should be provided, as well.

Power adapters are something you can pick up pretty much anywhere, but they might as well sell them here for the sake of convenience.
02/28/2012
I got a $1 adapter, it's not really doing anything with the power, just creates another shape to plug the chargers in. Most chargers are universal in terms of 110-220v.

While I'm not opposed to EF offering an adapter/transformer, I don't think it makes much financial sense for them. There may be a pool of international members currently interested in purchasing one, but after that pool is satisfied, where will the continued demand come from? While there will continue to be new international members, I can't imagine it's enough to justify stocking this type of item. Additionally, doesn't shipping cost increase with each item internationally? And if so, wouldn't it simply be cheaper to buy it from the country you're in?

I think it would be nice to have that option for those who do not live in the states.

The transformer I bought, was 450rmb. I then had to fork out another 150rmb for delivery from Hongkong. That is a whole lot of cash. I could buy a G4 toy with that amount.

For me, with the first item its 25USD for shipping. Each additional item is 1.5USD. I would have preferred to buy something from a company not only that I trust, but a company that would stand behind their products.

450 rmb is about $70, for those of you who aren't keeping up on the yuan.

Kindred, what's profitable is a little more complicated than ticking off the profit margins and demand of each individual product. EF already dumps quite a bit of money into earning customer loyalty (more security in the long run), so this request seems reasonable.

I think it is something that Eden should look into carrying. But Kindred makes a very valid point.

That would be a good idea...

It would be helpful, but most of the time you can buy adapters at any airport and most of the time in the country you are staying in. I know in smaller towns it's more difficult, but I'm sure even Taobao or 360buy sells adapters. There's always amazon.cn too.
