Is the focus of EF moving away from sex toys?

I'm just wondering if it is a conscious effort on EF that the inventory seems to be moving strongly away from sex toys or if it's just a coincidence. I looked back at the past 2000 new entries in the product search (yeah, I'm a nerd that way) and found the following numbers:

104 Toys + sex related items
137 bath and beauty products
1759 clothing/lingerie items

Granted, a large portion of the clothing numbers are listings of the same item in different sizes. However, the toy count is similar in that each different color comes up as a separate entry and several were new colors for products already offered. Also, I was generous in this category and included things such as batteries and lubricants. I know a lot of people are very happy to have so many new lingerie and even beauty products available. Unfortunately, I'm not one that has a huge interest in either category. I'd also love if EF would also offer even a handful of men's clothing items that were not costumes or gag items. Rumor has it that we will but I'll have to judge them when I see them. Right now, pretty much all of the items offered for men are more silly than serious.

Any thoughts?

EF is not moving away from toys at all, just simply expanding into other complimentary areas. We have been slowly doing this for a long time with lingerie and costumes, as well as body products. (Also, every new piece of lingerie we get has a sku for each size, so that definitely adds up in the product search.)

Thanks for the reassurance Gary. I'm glad EF is expanding because that demonstrates to me a willingness of the company to evolve. I just wanted to be sure that sex toys are still the main focus.

I'm glad you asked this. While I'm a huge fan of the lingerie and body products my main interest is the toys. I've seen a decrease in the amount added versus other items and was starting to wonder the same thing. Glad to hear that's not the case.

While I love the bath and body products and lingerie, My main focus is on the toys! I am glad to see EF is evolving into a more rounded site, however I am ecstatic that the toy focus is till there! Thanks, Gary!!

I'm incredibly pleased that EF has included so many lingerie options and bath/ body options. I love all the sex toys I have right now, but I love that I can still shop the same site to get other high quality intimates.

EF sells birth control for men - condoms. How about one for women - the Today sponge? I'd also like to see Replens vaginal moisturizer sold here too.

I'm not as thrilled with the mass quantities of lingerie as others here are. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like we're sacrificing toys for it. I don't mind sacrificing toys for beauty products though.

I do hope that Eden keeps its focus on toys. I enjoy lingerie and body/bath products, but I have my normal source for those. I visit Eden for toys, I hope Eden stays a reliable place to get toys that I want

Tuesday makes a great point, can we get some female condoms too?

Personally I understand the lingerie, most people will be ok buying and looking for it but the number of people who buy sex toys is relatively smaller. But I would like to see a better offering of sex toys in the middle range price. I think EF has a lot of the high end and lower end but not the best selection in the mid end range

AFAIK there is only one brand of female condoms easily available in the US and Eden carries them at a price similar to what places like Walgreen's has them for. (Great syntax, there.)

It would be nice to see Today Sponges, though. In some areas they are as hard to get as female condoms.

Thanks Sam! I think it's great that EF caries them! I talked to a sex educator who work with prostitutes in my area and she told me they are more popular than traditional condoms because the girls don't have to convince a guy to wear them and that because they can leave them in for several hours and customers. This educator told me they are trying to make them available to the ladies for free.

Does anyone know if the spermacide film is still available anywhere? It was a great product

Oh, but back to the point I look at it as the other categories (lingerie, bath, etc) playing catch-up. The number of toys still outweighs everything else combined by like, a billion. (Totally factual statistic.)

I'm still loving exploring the toys of the site, but I know when I expand into the fancy knickers side of the site to play in, I'll be thrilled!!!

I'd love to see some steel boned corsets not the plastic kinds though!!! And ones that are longer!!!!

I agree though, I love that they have more than just sex toys. While sex toys are wonderful and all, it's nice to have some other choices too!

The part about Replens - totally seconded It seems to be a really nice product that can be useful for a lot of reasons.

It feels like it's just EF branching out and becoming more diversified but it seems the sex toys are still being brought in. I know it reinvigorated my interest to be offered the total package, as it were. I can start with a lovely bath/spa experience, put on some great makeup and some lingerie and then play with my toys.

As Gary said the lingerie skewes the product search and so do all the scents, shades, sizes of bath and body products.

I love being able to purchase toys and other stuff I really want all on the same website! I think it's great! I really don't think it's taking away from the toys at all. Right now it's just exciting and fun because of all the new stuff but people will always want toys too just as much. I can't imagine ever ordering from any other adult online store because EF is definitely the best in so many ways.

Thank you SO much for offering so many plus size lingerie options. I'm also crazy about any kind of bath&body products. I'm a happy girl.
