When you read reviews for toys that you are interested in for yourself, do you prefer to read those written by someone of the same or opposite sex?
Do you prefer reviews written by someone who is the same or opposite sex?

I like both. Same sex gives me a good idea of if it is for me and from the opposite sex gives me a different perspective on the toy

I also like reviews by both. If the item is only for me I prefer the reviews by someone of the same sex, but for me it is really important to read reviews by the opposite sex if there is any chance my boyfriend will be using it with me.

I like both too.

Same sex.

It depends.
If the person reviewing the toy is of the opposite sex, but used the toy with someone of my sex, and can give input from that perspective, then I'm all for it.
If the person reviewing is of the opposite sex, and has used it on themselves, then it still depends. If we're talking about an insertable vaginal toy, the opposite sex has no vagina, and I don't feel that they can give me a good idea of whether or not it will work for a vagina.
However, if a member of the opposite sex is reviewing something like restraints or an external vibrator, I've no issue. I really think it all just depends on the toy and the way it is used as to whether or not a review will be useful.

I prefer reviews written by the 'primary beneficiary' of the toy. Since 99% of our toys are for her - I read mostly reviews by women. However some men relate how a toy worked for their wife - and that is very helpful as well.
05/12/2011
Right, as others have said - I don't really care about the gender of the person, it only matters if they use the item or toy similarly to how I'll use it.

It depends on the toy, for some I prefer a fellow male perspective but for most I don't.
05/12/2011
Depends on what they are reviewing. Generally if they are the same sex it's easier to decide how well it will work for me.
05/12/2011
I like a review by anyone, as long as the reviewer has used it. I personally tend to enjoy male perspectives because they broaden my thoughts sometimes, and I always feel happy when folks think outside the box (males using toys that are geared for females, and vise versa. Well, in any situation, really.)

It usually makes no difference but I sometimes I like getting the perspective of the opposite sex on a toy.
05/12/2011
Depends on what is being reviewed and if it is only for me or not.
05/12/2011
I like to get an idea on how it might work for myself when the same sex writes it

same sec

Most of the toys I shop for are gender-specific, so my gender. When they are not - it does not matter.
05/14/2011
I like seeing both. Reviews from another guy help me to see how it works on a man, reviews from a woman help me to see how it works for women and how well it will work in partner play (many times, not all).
05/15/2011
Makes no difference to me as long as the person has used the product or can thoroughly describe how it has worked for a partner.
05/15/2011
I usually read womens reviews- but only because I usually only use womens toys. I'm not into anal or I would read about anal toys. I have read a mans view on womens toys and enjoyed those reviews, so I guess it does not matter the gender of the writer, but how good they write and what they write about.
05/15/2011
It depends on the product that's being reviewed. If it's a toy designed for women, of course I'd prefer reviews by women, and vice versa if it's a guy's toy.
05/15/2011
As a guy, I would want same sex reviews, for most items. I just don't think a woman would be able to review a penis pump, or cock ring that well. Just a a guy wouldn't really be able to review some female specific toys.
05/23/2011
I favour same sex reviews more, but only because they are usually the toys I'd like to try.
I still don't mind the guys reviews - I love how the guys come up with the funny ones, but still includes everything ya could want to know!

Same sex reviews help for male related toys but sometimes the opposite view works too.
05/25/2011
It doesn't matter. If a girl writes about a man toy, it's a different perspective which is good, then I need one from a guy too. So I'd like to hear both, sort of.
