Are material safety ratings important to you?

Contributor: Tangles Tangles
In insertable toys the material safety ratings are incredibly important to me. I'm only buying silicone or glass. A rating of 10 is a deal-breaker for me.

Is a material's safety important to you?

I'll buy as low as an 8 if it's a toy that seems to really match my style, but otherwise, yea, ten is the way to go!

You're trying to say if toys are rated below '10', it's a deal-breaker for you, right?

I also go for 10, I buy silicone and stainless steel toys only.

I don't use insertible toys but I don't think I'd be too concerned about their rating.

I usually go from 6 or 7 on up. It's not necessarily safety but safer toys do tend to have less smell and I prefer the feel of glass, silicone, metal etc to jelly

Yes. I like things to be an 8 to a 10 but have bought things that were a 7 because I don't share them with anyone.

10 is preferable and silicone is my favorite material, but I'll go as low as 6 or 7 if the toy looks interesting enough.

With insertible toys, safety is our first consideration. Non-porous body-safe materials are a priority for us.

I almost always get stuff that's a 10 but I'll go as low as an 8, especially if the plastic is in the handle or something

I try to get things that are in the 8-10 on the scale

Yes. I always pay attention to materials and material safety ratings. Especially since I've known people who have had terrible reactions to poor materials in/on their toys. Also especially now that my fiance and I use some of my toys together, so for hygienic reasons I don't buy anything porous like plastic anymore.
