Anyone else finding this issue with wishlists?

Contributor: Peggi Peggi
I just so happened to have discovered this when a friend of mine wanted to see some of the items I kept raving about wanting so badly. She had the link to my profile on EF, and said that when she clicked on my Wish List she had problems viewing my items. I tested this out, clicking on a few wish lists of other members I am following, and I just end up viewing my own, even though I am clicking on their wish list link on their "about me" section of their profile!

Is there a setting you are supposed to have on your account so that your list shows up when someone clicks on it? I have my lists public and activated, and copied the URL to each list as the link on my profile, so I'm not sure why mine won't show up for other members (or at least it didn't for her) but it doesn't explain why I have the same issue when I click on someone else's wishlist and am brought back to mine!

So, is this a glitch in the system, or just something I am doing wrong?

Nope, everything seems to work as it is supposed to for me. However, this site can be glitchy.

You can just email the wishlist to her. You just have to make sure it's public.

I've had this problem too, but I checked back later and it worked so hopefully the same will happen with you!

Make sure, when you're getting the URL, that you're getting the public URL.

For example, if I look at my Top Ten wishlist, and just copy the URL right away, it will just take you to your own lists. link (This link ends in /customerwishlist.aspx ?wishlistID=a six digit number)

If you look on the left sidebar, under where you've made the list public, you'll see a pink link that will take you to get the public URL. For my wishlist, that's link (this link ends in customerwishlist.aspx? WLID= a really complex five-segment serial number with letters and numerals ) It should pop open a new window for you to grab this URL in (at least, it does for me in Safari.)

I am thinking that this was my problem, as I was actually clicking on the list, and copying the URL in the search bar! I've fixed that, and I am guessing the reason I come up with my own list when clicking on someone else's wishlist is for the same reason. My friend just checked mine, and my list is now showing up correctly.

Thanks for the help!!!

My pleasure! I wish they automatically gave us the public URL's---even when I know how to do it the right way, I forget sometimes. Enjoy sharing
