Do you add items to your cart in order to get free shipping?

Contributor: bayosgirl bayosgirl
Title is pretty self-explanatory. I'm wondering if, when your order totals less than $59, do you add an item that you were not planning to buy, or wanted to save for a future purchase, to get free shipping?

I may do it if it's only a few dollars off and would offset the shipping costs by doing so, but I have never been put in that position.

If I ahve the extra points or money to use. Other wise I either wait for an assignment for the free shipping or pay the shipping myself.

I have never ordered that much stuff YET *keyword is YET lol* but I would add a small item if the item cost less than the shipping overall.

I would if overseas had that luxury.

I have, because I'd rather add a $7 item than pay the $7 shipping! If it's around the same price I'd much rather get something for my money!

I do if the difference means I can get another toy I wanted.

I refuse to buy unless it qualifies for free shipping unless there is special circumstances (ex: made three purchases already for the week but a new under $59 item came out that I MUST have). I'll pretty much add things up until I hit the $59 with every purchase. Since I buy a lot of luxury brand vibrators, I usually qualify with just one item and any add-ons are just for me.

I usually don't have any difficulty ordering enough to qualify for free shipping, but there have been times when my order was a little short so I simply added a book or something else from my wishlist to push me up and over the minimum.

Only if I am very close to the free shipping.

Same here. If it's not much money I'd rather add in an inexpensive item to try.

I rarely have an order that is small enough to have to pay shipping for. If an order's $50+ than I'll add something to make it $59 to get the shipping. Why not?

I try to always hit at least $59 so I can get free shipping.

If I can afford it, yeah. I dislike spending money on shipping that I could be spending on toys.

I usually time my orders so that I will get free shipping, but I don't add random items.

This, except instead of overseas I'm just over the border. If Canada got free shipping after a certain amount I'd probably work to hit that mark for orders, sure.

It depends on how close I am. $5 - $8 yes, any more than that, no.

My orders almost always exceed the minimum - so it isn't necessary.

unless it something like an unbelievable sale or an item that is about to be continued I always plan my purchases so I get free shipping.

Yes, if I have ordered close enough to $59 and have to pay shipping that would make it more than if I just added a few dollar item, yes I add items.

Getting free shipping makes me feel better about splurging on what are basically unessential items. I have a long wishlist, so I sort it by price and add what it takes to get free shipping. I'm loving the 25% off vibes sale that's going on now. I've ordered twice so far. But Mimi didn't go on sale. What's up with that?!

If it's really close to the $59 mark, sure, but I ususally make orders that are larger than that.

If I get really close to the $59 mark, I'll often add something small just to put me over the limit. Otherwise I just suck it up and pay the shipping.
