While change has always been a constant here at Eden, there are some new changes taking place that we wanted to share with you.

We have started shifting direction with the products that Eden is carrying, and will carry. These changes are based on sale performance, but also on all of the feedback that we receive from all of you. Why have endless varieties of the same basic products, when we focus on offering the most proven and beneficial versions?

To our customers, this means carrying a better selection to suit their needs. But what does this mean to you - the review community?

It does mean that you will begin to see a gradual decline in the number of products in the catalog. We will still be bringing in new products, however. Products which have unique benefits not offered in other toys, whether it be style, performance or functionality. We will also continue the Eden Should Carry threads.

In addition to this, we are currently beginning a project to sort of revamp the review program, which will provide more opportunities for all of you. Look for those details coming to a forum near you!

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience, and rest assured, there are still many, many products on site available to review. Thank you!

With points being easily attainable and the FANTASTIC sales that are always being run I think we will still have plenty of items to review. I am happy that we will still have a say in the products that are available. Having three different types of bent graduate, for example, isn't productive especially when they cost the same amount.

Perhaps there will be less products in the catalog but can I assume that these products will be more varied? I dunno, I haven't been unhappy with the site changes in the past so even though I psychotically hate change I'm gonna remain optimistic.

So about the review program changes.....Spill it sistah! well, you know, when you can and stuff.

Yikes, there are so many items I want from the site that is carried right now just don't have the cash or points to get it all. I'm hoping the stuff I want stays and look forward to seeing the new items that will come through here. I can't wait to hear the news.

Well, I don't want to tell you guys something and then have it turn out to be a totally different direction so even though I know a good portion of the details on how all of this is going to go down, until we get into an actual test stage anything could change. That's just how we roll. We brainstorm ideas, springboard, test, and then finalize. Sometimes when we springboard we realize we need to go back to brainstorming.


BUT

This is what I can tell you:

The changes will allow more people to participate in a variety of ways which both benefit the community and the review program itself. We aren't planning anything nefarious or plan to take things away from the program.

All we want to do is improve, improve, improve and improve some more. So you guys are going to be seeing a lot of "construction work" going on in the next few months. And we will be looking forward to, and welcoming, your feedback!

This sounds great! My only question is: can we be notified which products will be discontinued so if we want it we can nab or or know in advance?

I'm sorry, that's just not going to be feesible.

I lied about only one question, but this is more of an aside. Whatever happened to the bounty list idea?

I have requests in for programming changes that will drastically affect what is on this list, once I have those in place this will go up.

It was something that was brought up around the new year, I think JR brought it up. It was proposed that there would be a reward system for catching abuse of the EoC.

I am wondering if you guys are starting to phase out the lingerie selection... I really hope not, as lingerie is the main thing that I purchase.

I have a wishlist devoted solely to lingerie, and I just went through and counted.. only 8 of the items on my 5-page long lingerie wishlist are in stock. Several of the items have been unavailable for several weeks now. :-/

Don't worry for every product that you can't get because it's phased out there will be twenty more that you will want that will be available. Happens to me all the time and I still have scads of pretty sweet stuffs.

I doubt lingerie will be phased out we've always had lingerie though we did see a huge growth in that area recently. I think this is more of a cutting the fat sort of thing....getting rid of the duplicate items and stuff.

That makes sense, because this is usually the time of year that the companies release their lines for the new year and discontinue a lot of last year's lingerie. Since there was just a pretty big lingerie sale and 2013 items haven't been added yet, it doesn't surprise me that your lists are mostly empty. Mine are too!

I've noticed that cuffs, crops, whips, etc have seemed to be scarce if not almost extinct around here...is that something you're getting rid of? So many things from the bdsm section have been out of stock for ages...

Are you shifting your focus away from toys for men to a female exclusive site? Because every 2 weeks there's about 50 new dildo/vibrators and at least that much again in lingerie and maybe 4-5 toys for guys and they are all basically the same thing. Also most of what I want is usually out of stock so I have to purchase from elsewhere.

Sounds like you are just reducing your catalog and trying to raise the quality/interactivity of reviews. Sounds great to me!

Fluke: Obviously, I'm a guy too, but I highly doubt Eden is shifting away from male items. The shortage in male items that you are running into is that there simply aren't as many toys exclusively for men available.



In all honesty: There aren't very many things that can be made for a man that won't look like EVERY other item out there.


It does suck as a man interested in toys, but with only so many materials and so many possibilities for the male anatomy... it will always be incredibly hard for manufacturers to make as many things for men as they do for women.


One other thing: The male sex toy market simply doesn't make as much money as the female market.

I guess I don't really understand what this means. It might be too early to make an announcement if you can't tell us what -- if any -- items are being phased out and when. As it is, this only leads to more questions.

I cleared out pages of items in my wishlist not too long ago, so I assume this is the reason why. It's actually disappointing because there were a lot of things I was interested in -- and I felt that they were unique enough to warrant winding up on my list. Didn't even have the chance to get them.

I can see culling down the varieties of vibrating bullets and cheap basic vibrators and jelly cock rings and the like. There are more than enough to choose from. A move to more popular, unique and innovative items and high end stuff is smart I think.

About the guy stuff, the community is about 25-30% male I think, so obviously we are a minority and get less new stuff. I doubt we will be phased out completely. I have seen a major reduction in some items though.

Eden is way better than other sites, so I trust they know what they are doing and am anxious to see what the changes are.

I for example just tried my first plug in toy - the Eroscillator which is much different than the average vibrator. I'm looking forward to trying new toys with unique benefits. Bring it on!

Can you be more specific about the type of products you will stop carrying? Are there specific groups of products that will go away? For example, no more shampoo or no more pj pants? etc Or is every category generally staying but just with less products in it? Any new categories that we haven't seen before?
