Ok so for those of you that write the articles, just how do you come up with a topic to write about?

I read the monthly suggestions for topics I relate to that others may want to read or learn from. If that does not strike any inspiration, I go with a life experience I have been through that has jumped out at me from multiple posts on the forums or other issues.

I check out the monthly sugetions. They aren't always things I want write about but if not they will usually spark an idea for me.

Every month, we post an editorial calender with topic suggestions and writing prompts. You can find the list for January here in this thread. We also hold a monthly topic suggestion contest where readers and contributors can suggest the topics they want to read and write about. Today, I'll be adding January's winners to the editorial calender for this month, and you're more than welcome to use any of the suggestions made on this thread, or any of the other monthly topic suggestion threads.

I read a lot of news articles and most of my own articles are based off my interpretation of reading those.
