Hi you guys! We've got August's Editorial Calendar ready, and then some! You ready for a new type of contribution?
Now that we've got SexIs Social up and running, we had this spectacular idea we hoped you guys would enjoy being involved in. That's up first. Please read the SexIs Social Submission Guidelines before submitting anything. And as always, feel free to email me (rayne[at]edenfantasys[dot]com) any time with your questions.
SexIs Subjective
Our community is nothing if not diverse. We've got members from every corner of the world, all over the gender spectrum, with all sorts of different sexualities, politics, religions, opinions. Something that's really important to us is giving you the opportunity to express these thoughts in a safe, tolerant space. To that end, we bring you SexIs Subjective!
But what is it?
Every month, we'll ask a question, and we want your honest opinion in 300-500 words. This article should be based solely on your own opinion. It should not be a response to any other post, or any other person or group's opinion. We want to know how the topic makes you feel. So you ready for the question?
Question: On the subject of body image and health, there are many slogans and phrases meant to help people all over the size scale. Three of the forerunners are "fat acceptance," "thinspiration," and "fit is the new skinny." Tell us how each of these affirmations make you feel.
Deadline: August 24th, 2012 @ 5pm ET
Please note: Contributors are limited to one article a month on this topic. Articles will be published after the deadline. Contributors will receive 1000 points upon publishing. Authors will be asked for revision if the article does not follow the instructions.
Monthly Topic
The months preceding the Olympics have brought up some pretty touchy subjects. Gender equality in sports, national pride and even the abstinence debate have been broached in recent Olympics-related news. Who knew the status of a woman's hymen was so important in sports, eh?
So tell us:
• Why are we still segregating men and women in sports? And where does this leave transgender jocks?
• Where are you and/or your ancestors from now or originally? What do you know about your culture? What are you proud of? How does your nation's society feel about all things related to sex? How do you feel about all things related to sex?
• Why on Earth did the media feel the need to report on a female swimmer's virginity? Are you a supporter of abstinence? If not, what was your first time like? Were there any surprises? Anything you wish people would have told you?
Deadline: August 24th, 2012 @ 5pm ET
Editorial Calendar - August – Focus: Relaxation
Each month, the editorial calendar has its own focus. Each week has its own specific topic related to the main focus, and each has its own deadline. If there's a specific topic you'd like to post about, be sure the article's in by the deadline listed here. The topics and deadlines are as follows.
Most of us slack off in summer. We take more vacations in summer. We try to relax. But in August, a lot of us are getting ready to go back to school, or getting our children ready to go back to school. Tell us how you relax while preparing for getting back on track.
