I know that Good Clean Love is made locally near me, and that Fun Factory is US Made and does not outsource to sex shops. Otherwise, it's really difficult to find out where toys come from. For example, it looks like the people who make Nexus also make car parts? Do you do your research on where your toys REALLY come from?
Do you research your toy manufacturers?

It matters to me.

I definitely check out a company before buying, some companies I trust for a reason!

Almost always. Definitely if it's a lube, cream or anything similar. I've even emailed a manufacturer when I felt there was something off about the materials or something. Such as Lelo on the Luna Beads' string -- they never list what that thing is made of and it absorbed ahem... fluids, so I had to know. I am really conscious about that stuff, so I do like to know at least a little about what I'm going to be putting in my cooter!

Other. I like to know where my toys were made only out of curiosity. As long as it's a good quality toy, it can be made locally, or in China...it really doesn't matter.
Will you say no to a Njoy product, just because they're made in China?

Can't say I do
03/28/2013
It depends on the product. I have some brand loyalties and it is because of their toy quality and how they run their business.
03/28/2013
I purchase primarily based on quality, design and value, but I do also like to know where my products are made. I do care. Tantus, Vixen Creations, Nob Essence, Fleshlight, Sportsheets, Spareparts and many others manufacture in the U.S. I try to support them when possible.
I will not rule out a purchase just because of its country of origin. Fun Factory toys are imported from Europe and Njoy is manufactured in China. These are both premium brands and I would not hesitate to purchase them.

I research my toy but not where it comes from. As long as it's a well made product.
03/28/2013
No, I rely on reviews.
03/28/2013
I don't really care... As long as they're pleasurable.

It's not that I don't care I just don't research them. I go more on the reviews of the actual product.

This! However, in the long run i will read as many of the reviews of the product in question.

I care to some extent, but I'm more interested in the quality of the product.
03/28/2013
I don't put a whole lot of work into it, but I do try to find out a little bit about where my toys are coming from. It's mostly just because I'm curious, though. I'm not sure if a toy being made in a certain country would stop me from buying it if it's something I want.

whoops! That's what I meant. Funny, I say I'm picky and then I cite the wrong country!!

I care a lot about this. The standard of living for average Americans has been on the decline since about 1980, and it's no coincidence that that's when we started having more "free trade".
Countries like China don't have the same protections for consumers, their workers or the environment that the US, Canada, and most European countries have. That's why those countries are able to produce goods for less money. We should have insisted on some kind of offsets to compensate for the differences when the treaties were negotiated, but we didn't. We need to either start requiring countries we trade with to have the same standards we do, or else require that they pay more to compensate. Unless/until we do that, our standard of living will continue to decline.
Since I don't see that happening anytime soon, I usually avoid buying things made in those countries — but it's not easy! Fortunately, with sex toys, the best are still made in countries with relatively strong worker, consumer and environmental protections. I wish the same were true for lingerie (and lots of other non-sex products). I'll get off my soapbox now!

Not really, though I'm learning which ones I like.
04/15/2013
I don't know that I can say I research where they "come from", but I do read the reviews and make sure that I am getting a quality product.
05/19/2013
I've only researched a toy if there are no reviews out for it yet, for example the Wake-Up Vibe and the Plainstirs Egg. I do try to keep up to date with Jopen and Lelo and surf their sites for their new products from time to time.

I know a few but not all.

I love researching my toys. It's interesting and like any other product, you should be curious about it. Sometimes people think sex toys should just appear, who knows, but you should know about them.

It's never been a big deal to me.
05/31/2013
It never even crossed my mind unless I was super interested in the company. But after your question I may start at least trying to research them.
06/01/2013
If it is a brand I know and trust then I don't worry about it, but if it is some random brand I do my research. I do more research with clothes than I do toys.
06/03/2013
I look into it. I don't generally care if my toys are "made in America" or somewhere else. What I care about is how honest the companies are about their manufacturing and materials, and I care about how easy they are to get in touch with if something goes wrong.
LELO has been the absolute best at this, by the way.

I mean..... if Nexus makes a good car, it could be assumed that they make a good vibrator too, right?
No, I don't research it. It does not matter to me if it's made in China or wherever so long as I like it. SSA glass is all made in China and they make awesome stuff and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Composition of a product is extremely important topic to me. I am also more inclined to buy a product if its made in the US.
