Student doesn't reply

How long do you wait to cancel a class with a student if they don't reply?

I'm thinking of waiting 1 month just not sure if I should wait longer.

I give them at least two but some longer. Some people only come to this site occasionally. Unfortunately I have had my fair share of MIA students. I am not sure what happens. Sometimes they get that first free toy and you never hear from them again. Maybe they get embarrassed about writing a review or they just did it for something free. I am not sure.

Thanks, yeah this one sent me a request and I had messaged them and no reply back so they haven't even gotten a free toy yet. It's been about 10 days now and I figured I'd give them some time to get back on just wasn't sure what's a good time span.

When someone asks to be a student I send out a message to them to see how serious they are before I accept them. It, to me, shows how serious they are and how much they are paying attention. 10 days really isn't that long I would give them lots more time to respond.

Thanks for the advice. That's a good idea about messaging them before hand. And right that's why I was thinking 1 month but wasn't sure how long I should give.

There is no strict rule on how long you should wait before cancel students class. It is up to you. But I'd recommend you to contact a student at first to explain and talk over all the nuances - how the process of requesting items and submitting reviews is working, terms of writing a review, how much time you're ready to wait for student's response, ask to inform you if a student has any difficulties that prevent to write a review in time, etc. And when you are sure that your student is pretty serious about reviewing, you can move on and request a product for him/her.
