#BillofRights - 5th Amendment - You Have the Right to Shake Things Up!

Contributor: Ansley Ansley

We live in this huge world with a thousand and one potential influences lurking around every corner. We can meet people via the internet and build meaningful online relationships; some of those turn into real-life relationships down the road. Yet, it can be scary to try something new. Humans have a tendency of really enjoying knowing the outcome of things before they fully commit. So many wonderful things were accidental discoveries. Penicillin is the default example, let some bread mold and the next thing you know you have a cure for a social disease that's quite embarrassing.

When was the last time you tried something totally new (sex toys don't count!)? Do you always stick to the same genre of movies, books, or music? When was the last time you really pushed your comfort zone?

We encourage all of you to try something new today or this weekend. Go to the outskirts of town and see what's lurking in your local mom and pop shops, or try a new food you've always heard was delicious, or pick a band you're unfamiliar with and listen to their catalog - just do something new. Add some spice and variety to your routine! And of course, as always we would love to hear what these things you want to try are!

That's going to be a hard one. I'm a creature of habit and stick to the same routines.

Man, I want some of those cupcakes!

I try to do new things fairly often, because if I don't make myself, I fall into the same boring routine - even if it's as simple as exploring a new part of town or listening to a new song.

I'm always eclectic. If I wanted to try something new, I'd stay home and not doing anything.

Actually, light BDSM is a good example of something I hadn't tried until recently. Also, my girlfriend and I have both made an effort to put more into our sex lives than we had before.

In terms of a personal achievement, I'm thinking of becoming a manager at my workplace, which is something I wouldn't have considered before.

I'm always doing the same sort of things. Even my grocery shopping is pretty much the same. I will change things up by ordering something new the next time I go out to eat.

I tried something new at a restaurant the other day and I was really happy I did. The kicker? It's something just about everyone I know likes, but I always turned my nose up to them: fajitas. Grilled steak fajitas. LOL

A variety of reasons, not a huge fan of onions and the meat is usually coated in a lot of lime juice (also not a fan) and I really dislike cilantro. I decided to give it a shot and found that I really enjoyed them (with fewer onions than my beloved, but still they were good).

Not in a long while; so long I can't even figure out what it was. Oh, well, I guess we're watching a new, different TV show - Hart of Dixie.

I try new things as much as possible! Last week I was writing reviews for toys and playing around with using different combinations of toys together.

Hmm I'm single again so my routine has changed soooo much in the past few weeks! I used to do everything with my Boyfriend and mostly did stuff he enjoyed (well enjoyed together) but now im doing stuff that I enjoy on my own like writing, painting, taking long walks with my dog stuff like that! It's quite amazing to have a different routine again

This is to funny. I always order the same thing every place we eat. I feel it is safe. I don't want to order something and not like it and waste my money. I have been trying more foods. It has been wonderful. The blends of foods is great. I have been missing out for so long.

This summer I've tried a lot of new food that I normally wouldn't touch. I've been trying to eat healthier and that means eating things that I normally would skip so I could have more of the "good" stuff. As it turns out I've found some new foods I enjoy.

The last time I tried something new was Halloween. I tried a few american candies like Hershey's kisses and Hostess Twinkies... I wasn't impressed though.

Lately I've been an awful creature of habit, but it's a huge coincidence I chose this topic tonight because I just wenr to the salon today and had my shoulder length auburn hair dyed black/violet and chopped into a pixie style cut-I love it, I feel like a different person, it's a great feeling, now I'm ready for more new things. I encourage everyone to take a leap like I did, it's liberating!
