Canadian shipping

Love your customers to the north.

I find the $15 rate shipping to Canada reasonable enough - though at some point I would like there to be a flat rate Canadian shipping, regardless of how much you buy - as there is for US shipping. It's almost painful for me - as I am 10 minutes from the US border, and yet that difference costs me alot of money in the end. I'm just asking that you consider Canadian special shipping rates as well - because as it is, I can't get excited or motivated to buy when "delivery by this weekend" or "free shipping when over $59" is offered, because it doesn't apply to me.

Don't Canadians get extra taxes levied on some of their items, as well? I know a Canadian friend of mine bought DVDs from India recently, and the Canadian government slapped her with an extra $15 in tax.

In BC (where I am) there is a Provincial Sales Taxes (of PST) 7% AND a Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 5% ... all in all, that means every day when one goes shopping, we get charged 12% in tax. Not fun. Now, that tax shouldn't relate to buying anything from Eden Fantasies because it's a non-Canadian site, and I still have a US bank account that I will be using for purchases. As, so they say on their information regarding shipping to Canada, they declare the package as being only worth $10, regardless of what's in there - so we aren't charged duty/import sort of taxes when we receive our package. But yes, the entire process is a pain for instance when you end up paying as much for shipping and in taxes as you do the products you are buying themselves. Just looking for a break.

So - even if Eden Fantasies does not intend to make any sort of special shipping offers to Canadians - I was at the very least expecting a reply - stating something to the effect of: yes, we have plans to do that in the future - or no, it's not adventitious for us to do that - or even, thanks, we'll think about it. But I wasn't expecting silence. Could someone respond?

I dunno. Like I said above, my friend from Canada bought DVDs from India--an Indian website, too, of course--and still had to pay extra taxes.

Given that you haven't received a response here in a week's time, I'd suggest sending an in system message...that's what works for me.

Sucks the shipping is so high for you. I remember it being said once that they were no longer offering free shipping or flat rate to Canada...I think it was in a V-blog, though I don't remember for sure. I had the opinion it was something they "used" to do, but stopped. I seriously hope you get a reply soon, from one toy lover to another.

Im worried about the boarder fees and taxes currently.
In Canada you still have to pay the taxes on goods even if they were from a US store. Its absolutely stupid in my opinion. Im guessing by the end of all the charges to ship here, border fees, taxes I may as well have just driven to Toronto and bought everything. Probably would have cost less.

I second this. I just realized that the shipping cost goes up quite high pretty quickly :\.
