I'm hoping to get my May affiliate commissions on a check this month, as well as everything else, but I'm worried that it won't close in time. Can anyone give me an idea of when a period officially closes? I mean.. all orders for may have shipped, there won't be new orders. Just wondering!
When does a period go "closed"?

I think it's to account for returns.
It's still generous, because returns can be made for up to 60 days after the order, but commissions get paid between 30-60 days after it (i.e. commissions get paid on about July 1 for both a purchase made on May 1 - making the commission 60 days later - as well as one made on May 31 - making the commission about 30 days later).
So theoretically, a return could be made on an item that a commission has already been paid for, and EF doesn't subtract those after the commission is paid. I would expect most returns to happen within 30 days though.

You're quite welcome, as I don't earn affiliate dollars the cooling off period has always been a little unclear for me as well, sooo let me see if I can get someone to chime in on the matter who can explain it better than I can.

Ah ok It's that long because of the open period of returns (60 days).
