Questions on getting a mentor...

Contributor: Chelle Love Chelle Love
I was brought to the site by a family member and I would love for her to be my mentor... The problem is that she isn't a mentor yet, she has a rating just shy of 5.0 and hopefully will be a mentor soon, so that I can start my classes... One issue is that I have been told that it will be a long drawn out process and to find a new mentor... Any advice will help...

It's not really a long process. Just go through the list of available mentors. Read some of their reviews. See what styles you like. When you find someone you want to mentor you, I'd suggest PMing them first to say why you're interested in mentoring with them. What you like about their style, what you're hoping to learn, etc.

Thank you... If my cousin applies for the mentor program itself, is it a little hard to get into? In all reality, yes, I would like for her to be my mentor, but if its going to be a while then I will try looking elsewhere...

I don't think many people have been declined, but it is possible. If she's at a 5.0 now it does take a while for rank to go up. It'll depend on how often she writes reviews and how much she participates on the forums and such.

Try going to your own Profile page, then click "about me" your currently shows .02

Lena Eden if the community mgr. Anywhere you see her name, click it and then pm her with any questions you may have or suggestions.

To see any members rating, u can go to news and announcement page, on bottom of the list of top reviewers, click that. It brings you go all reviewers. And you can type on a name to find anyone's profile, present and former.
