I'd like to start by saying that I'm not mad or upset with EF because it's not their fault.
Since I'm in Canada, sometimes I have to pay customs fees for international packages, which I had to pay for this time and that is to no surprise to me. So when I looked at my package I noticed something special on the box. With the customs fee slip there was a message on it saying: "Opened/Ouvert".
I was curious and called the Canadian Border Agency. They said that sometimes they open the packages that come through and when they do, they reseal it with tape that has CBSA printed on it. This wasn't the case with this package. The agent told me that it could be Canada Post that opened the package.
I haven't inquired about this to Canada Post but has anything like this happened to anyone else? What could be the reason for them to go through it?
