Assignments Cancelled?

Contributor: HannahPanda HannahPanda
I haven't used a free assignment in a good bit and all of my previous ones have had reviews written and published.. so I've requested this one product in several different colors/sizes because I really want to try it out; it's well under my limit to request an assignment for, but it keeps getting cancelled and I'm not really sure why?

I know it's kind of a silly question to ask, but I found it under products Eden wants reviews for, so I'm kind of confused as to why it would be cancelled if it's in stock, within my limit, and I've followed up on all the reviews I need.

If it's a lingerie item, only one verified review is allowed per product. The other possibility is that the particular item has already been assigned to someone but the review has not been posted yet. I'm sure there are other possibilities. You could probably email JR for an explanation if it's that important to you.

I had this happen once and was told the item went out of stock between when they assigned it and when it was cancelled. The item didn't go out of stock on the main page, just the number of items they had set aside for review I guess.

I would ask JR if you want to know for sure.

Kira and Kindred have it correct! You can send a message to JR if you want to know why something was canceled, but it's almost always because someone else got to it first.

I always try to submit at least five items at a time for assignment, not for points or anything like that, but because I don't know who has their eye on what and who has been assigned what before I submit my request(s). I usually end up with my first, second or third choice.

Don't give up, though! It can be done!

Ah, wow I didn't know some of this stuff! I'm glad I read the posts in this forum! This is great info! I think I'll start going with what Stormy suggested, the submitting 5 at once to see which are available-I jsut had the issue with having 6 in a row cancelled before I got one I actually liked. It's really frustrating!

i've been told on some that the product can't be an assignment if it has more than 3 reviews done on it.

There are MANY reasons for this, and it really shouldn't be taken personally. I think those of us who stick to the old school reviews and have been here a few years all go through it. More recent reviewers are probably getting it earlier in their writing than we did. The fact is, there are a LOT of people reviewing for the site. There are general rules for how many of this product and so on and so forth. Sometimes if it's out of stock, it will be cancelled, or sometimes it may SEEM like there isn't a review, but someone else has requested it sooner than you did. They will (of course) give the assigment to the one who requested first. Like I said, it's never personal. It does get a little frustrating when it seems no items are available. I don't as for them every month, but some do. Good luck finding something fun!
