Rain checks

I'm sure there are many logistical reasons why they don't, but I wish EF offered rain checks.

I discovered the Hot Rod today while perusing the 40% promotional items, but it literally went out of stock while I was comparing it to the O2 Adam.

I wonder how long I'm going to have to see that kind of sale on the Hot Rod again? I'd be willing to turn over the points/money now if I knew it would ship immediately when it is back in stock.

I have wondered the same thing! However everything I tend to want that is out of stock gets discontinued Hopefully it goes on sale again soon as it comes back in stock

Part of the problem is that EF does not always have control over when inventory is back in stock. Some items, such as Nobessence, can literally be out of stock for months. Additionally, items that go out of stock can also become discontinued. I also suspect that some of the sales are to move inventory that's been sitting around for awhile. While I think it would be a nice feature to offer, I'm not sure it's in EF's best interest.

I know…

It's just that I came so close to snagging it. I literally put an in-stock Hot Rod in the comparison, read down to the bottom, went to click the shopping cart, and… it was GRAYED OUT!

Oh well, let the waiting begin.

As my wife told me a long time ago, "He who hesitates, is lost"! Which implies, if I don't act quick, I loose out!

But I have to agree with you, I would like to see some kind of Rain Check option too. But if EF was to implement such a program into their business model, I believe it would become difficult to facilitate in an effective way. I sometimes think they don't have a large enough warehouse to always stock an adequate supply of ALL their adult toys. I remember you mentioning to me something similar on their erotica book section (including the profit margin issues).

I'd totally take advantage of this offer when if they had it. I don't mind waiting for things to come back I just want a guarantee that they eventually will, I worry they'll be out of stock FOREVER!

A rain check doesn't require keeping stock — technically it doesn't even mean placing an order. It's just a promise from the retailer to extend the sale price when the item returns to stock.

Of course, I don't think that's necessarily sound business practice which makes me wonder why a number of retailers adopted it in the first place.

@TheSinDoll
He's not creepy, he's AWESOMESAUCE.

It would be sweet, but yes, in a business sense, not possible.

I hadn't thought of this possibility prior to reading this post, but I would love some EF rain checks!

Wow, I thought I was the only one in the world that used the word "awesomesauce!"

I understand why no rain checks. I'm just hoping the thing I'm eying is back in stock before the sale is over! I'll still get it either way, but here's hoping.
