Lingerie problems - one size for top and bottom?

I noticed that when you want to buy a lingerie set they only have sizing options for both top and bottom set instead of being able to choose a different size for each individual one.
I really like their lingerie and what not but my top size doesn't match my bottom so it kind of defeats the purpose

Sadly they are sold in sets, luckily though most sets you can match with a plain black thong. I have this problem with Coquette lingerie I have to order XL in baby dolls but the undies don't fit. Other companies I order up larger and both pieces fit so it is really hit or miss depending on the company and their sizing.

i thought about just sewing in the bottoms depending on how simple they are
