Sick and tired of the shitty service usps dishes out!

Contributor: Shellz31 Shellz31
I've almost had enough of the useless usps postage service. I think it's bloody disgusting that the shipping starts at $25 and jumps $1.50 for every single item thereafter when usps can't even do a decent job or get mail overseas in a reasonable manner.

I totally understand that Eden has no control over prices and what those useless lot in the postal service do, but couldn't overseas buyers at least have some options instead of being dumped with crap service whether we like it or not????

Here's an example of how f**ked up usps are. I'm from Australia, so naturally my shipping address says "Australia". So I look up to see where my recent package is on the tracker (when it didn't show up here when it should of), only to find that Brazil is the new Australia. Friggin' news to me!
Wouldn't basic reading be a requirement to work for the usps service????????
This issue has been reported and apparently it could be another 23 days before it gets to me. Absolutely disgusting. Shame on you usps!
But what's to say it won't happen again?
I enjoy it here, but usps is seriously ruining my experience. I'm also denied joining the DR program cause the stupid usps take their sweet ass time (2+ weeks) to get my package to me. SIGH!

I personally love DHL couriers and I was extremely happy with the service I received from them every time I ordered before the move. Depending on the cost of course, I'd be willing to pay more for decent shipping if we were even given the option in the checkout.
Is there any other form of shipping that could be offered as well????

The service is getting worse in the states too, but nothing like that! My fear is that it's only going to get worse as more Post Office branches are closed, more workers are laid off and Saturday delivery ends.

I would be completely frustrated in your shoes!

I was just thinking this exact thing. With more employee's laid off, more branches closed down, it brings down moral through the whole USPS company. Only in the recent 1 year or so I have noticed how the service is getting bad. While I am sure plenty of the employee's still love and care about their job and do the best they can, there are some I'm sure who really don't care at all.

A good example was, during the slow mail season (no holidays etc) it took 2 full weeks for 1 single letter (envelope) to go from Wisconsin, to Pennsylvania. It could have been a one time thing where the letter was just misplaced or mixed up. I get it, that happens. But when multiple things continue to happen to the same people over and over it gets old and frustrating. If USPS keeps going the way it is, i'm afraid it will probably be shut down, or running in very few states.

I hope Shellz31 that something will come of all this and maybe a better shipping option. Overseas shipping is always a pain in the ass and expensive. I've seen in many cases where shipping costs as much as the product, or more (not here on EF but elsewhere).

Yup. I recently had them send a package back to the merchant (not EF, another company) because they said the address was incorrect!! Yet it was in fact the right address, I've gotten many things here before, no problem.

So it appears they are running themselves into the ground all round. Certainly makes ya wonder what the hell they are doing when they can't deliver to addresses.

Amen.

I just wish I was religious for then I'd sing that.

I love and adore and love to tell people about EdenFantasys. But I do tell them that international shipping sucks. Sucks sweaty camel balls.

But I also make sure to tell them that this is USPS and not Eden's work.

It took 29 days for a parcel to get to me. And I wrote a little about it in another thread here at EF. Their tracking service said that my parcel was released from customs, and then took about two weeks to travel approx 1000km.

What kind of priority mail is that??? THEN to make matters even worse, when I saw (two days after the fact... yes you read that right... took them two days to update the status) that a delivery attempt was made, I finally called into China Post.

They made an attempt to deliver in Hohhot. I do not live in Hohhot. I live over a hundred kilometres away in another city!!!!!!!!!! And yes. My city name was clearly listed as was my telephone number.

THEN I was told that they started the process to send it back to EF as no one was there to accept the delivery, and no one was picking up the phone.

I could have slapped them. And trust me. I was FURIOUS!

Finally, we got things sorted out and a few days later I have to make my way into the other district, paying the equivalent of almost twenty USD to go pick it up because... get this. They already started the process to return to sender so it is out of their hands. And if I want it? I have to come and get it.

Welcome to the astronomical shipping price for utter lack of service that is USPS.

Now over the past month, I've had FedEx parcels, UPS, DHL and a few various other Asian postal services deliver items to me. With no issues.

ANYTHING that I have received from USPS, has given me nothing but headaches.

I honestly do not mind waiting two weeks. I really don't. But what ticks me off, is what does the word "priority mail" mean? I wish that USPS would be more specific in it's tracking.

Ok. My rant is over. Until I decide to swallow my anger and complain more about USPS and it's shoddy delivery on keeping boxes in the shape of a box and not flat as a pancake destroying everything.

And yes. I have sent emails to the USPS customer service people... but I doubt I'll ever get a response.

For now.

Wow that is one shitty experience and I am sorry you had to deal with that and put up with it.

Damnit someone needs to invent a teleportation device already to send packages.

If teleportation was invented and in common use... I'd be visiting random friends around the globe....

Ok... I know I've complained enough to last a life time about USPS... but I thought we could go for a chuckle.... I just go this update:

Customs clearance processing complete, February 08, 2012, 12:07 pm, CHINA PEOPLES REP
Attempted Delivery Abroad, February 08, 2012, 11:54 am, CHINA PEOPLES REP
Processed Through Sort Facility, February 05, 2012, 12:37 pm, CHINA PEOPLES REP
Processed Through Sort Facility, February 02, 2012, 11:47 am, ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS)

So my question is... which comes first? Customs clearance or delivery???

I'm with you!

Also from Australia, tucked away in the West. USPS are terrible for postage. Besides costing me an arm, a leg and my soul, the service is awful and it takes such a long time. What has happened to you sucks big hairy monkey balls and is unacceptable. Luckily I've not encountered that so far.

Let's compare! Recently I ordered product from 2 different sites. EF shipped with USPS, and the other site shipped with FedEx.

My recent USPS shipment from America took 12 days to hit Australian shores, and another 5 days to traipse its way across the country to me. The tracking site is pathetic- doesn't update for days until after an 'event' happens at times, and I find that very frustrating. So, that's 17 days all up, folks, and one of the more speedy USPS shipments I have received - if I receive them at all. I've had one or two lost in transit ... somewhere. Somehow. Perhaps fallen into the blackhole of USPS stuffs?

My FedEx shipment, also from America, was at my door within 6 days. The site updated almost immediately after an event and I didn't have to spend any time guessing where it was or when it would get here.

It's a massive difference, and I've not even encountered any delivery errors like so many others have.

I would dearly love to have an option of who to ship with. I don't mind paying a bit more when I know I'm going to get my order quickly and in good condition.
