I'm very interested in this kit as my first strap-on kit but I'm confused about the sizing. I've seen in various places that it's 40 inches and others 60. As a bigger person it's important for me to know the actual size. Thanks a lot!

The harness that comes in the Bend Over Beginner kit is a Sportsheets velvet vibrating harness. It goes up to size 60" waist.

60", but that harness kinda sucks.

There seems to be a lot of variation in the quality of the harness included in that kit (not that I'm knocking the kit, but the same harness is available in a bunch of other forms...such as the "Latigo Leather Harness"). I've always loved them, but from talking to Epiphora, I know I've been lucky to not have some of the issues she did with her one.
I play with some bigger women, and we are able to trade this harness back and forth (my hips are in the 45" range, hardly petite, but still much smaller than I've seen it go). I have also watched very skinny women use this harness happily.
I'd advise you to look into getting the "Latigo Leather Harness", which is the same as the one in this kit, but with a better backing pad, and buy a medium silk to use with it. You'll spend less, and both pieces can easily be replaced and improved upon once you figure out how well strapping on works for you and your partner. If you're a bigger girl, you want to make sure the dildo you select has some length to it because part of the length near the base of the dildo likely won't be useable for penetration when you get your bodies lined up.
And actually I just noticed that your post was in relation to the new curve kit. I don't know how well the curve will work, as I have never used one, but based on its dimensions I'd say its a great place to start for strap on sex.
Good luck!

In regards to the Curve Kit, it is the Sport Sheets Latigo Harness, the same one that is available for single purchase. The Harness goes from a 25" waist all the way up to a 60", so it is comfortable for all body types. By purchasing the Curve Kit, you are saving a considerable amount of money, and you receive the Curve Dildo which has a larger base than the Silk so you have more stability during harness play, as well as a perfect curve and ripples that hit all the right places since it is anatomically designed.

Little confusion about the labeling of this question. I think Michelle saw the "Related To" and thought that was the question. It's really about the Bend Over Beginner.

When we brought this kit out- there wasn't any decent harness kit out- period. I worked with Sportsheets to create the harness. They had never made harnesses before the Bend Over Beginner Kit- and we sold it prior to their selling it singly.
I'm really proud of the Bend Over Beginner- but just as every toy one size does not fit all.
There are two really nice harnesses for larger size women. One is Sportsheets Diva and the other is Stormy Leather's Crown Harness. It isn't just about the padding in fitting a bigger girl, it's a combination of straps that are wide enough not to cut into the flesh (not literally but damn it feels like it) and a bigger or higher pelvic pad so it doesn't create (as Ducky DooLittle calls it)a Muffin Top. A harness should be comfortable and flattering- it needs to make you feel good about yourself.
BOB is a starter kit. A good inexpensive place to begin the exploration and a kit where the building blocks (in this case dildos and harness) can be used then augmented once you know that pegging, or other harness play, is for you.
