I am really and truly considering this as a birthday gift to my Twilight obsessed best friend. I think it would be the most practical and useful gag gift EVER!
Anyone seen the Vamp?

I caved and ordered one. Not because I'm a twilight fan (I'm not), but because I love my boyfriend's Sire, and the pink glittery-ness peaked my interest.

There was a post about this recently I think. It's pretty neat but I haven't ordered it, not sure that I will. I've never seen Twilight, though that's not a requirement in order to buy this particular dildo

Dildo's don't do anything for me and the only reason I would order it would be to glue it to my cardboard cutout of Edward that my Husband got me for our anniversary.

I freaking love it. Unfortunately I won't be buying it any time soon since I don't have dildo money laying around. But I so would, oh, I would.

Why Pink? Why not black pearlescent with glow in the dark fangs or bats?

Yeah. I would prefer black pearlescent, but I think they were going for a semi-flesh-toned dildo (since it is supposed to be the penis of one of the vampire from that series). But I'm a sucker for shimmer/sparkles in any color.

On a random tangent... Can you imagine if it was made in shimmery lime green? Now THAT would be cool. ^__^

Yeah, aside from the name, it is pretty normal.

The true intent of Vamp was to play with the brain- our biggest sex organ.
As stated above, it isn't a unique form. It's one of my favorite designs though that we've ever made. But a name and a new pigment choice and some well chosen words made people who don't usually think about sex toys- think about them.
We surround ourselves with friends who are open to the same adventurous open mindedness. Sometimes we need to reach out and engage the rest of the population.
There's a video on YouTube where a woman is talking about this Vamp "Pleasure Object" and each time she says "pleasure object" you can feel how awkward it is for her. She finally gives up keeping her video clean and starts calling it a dildo. It's so much easier for her. It's kind of amazing. It's an interesting social commentary to me.

Thanks for the info, Metis!
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I ordered a Vamp. It's nowhere near as sparkly and pink as we worried, so anti-sparkly-pink-dild o people can rest easy. It's actually a nice cream, with a hint of pink to it. Also, that glitter isn't the large, bold glitter seen in many toys. Its so fine it comes off almost more luminous than shimmery until you get very close. Overall, it's a very attractive silicone.

I am really thinking it would be the coolest gift for my friend! I kind of want one too, but that is based only on sparkles. If it sparkles, then I want it! I may cave and buy it.

My best friend and I have October bday and are in love with Jacob in the books but b/c of the first movie having serious Edward dreams so I am really thinking about buying it for her as well.

It doesn't glow. It comes off more like those "illuminating" makeup powders that use a very finely ground shimmer to make your face look glowy.

I had to order one after all the hubbub from the humorless masses online ... it's gorgeous, and I'm VERY anti-pink-sparkle. Almost an ivory color, with a shimmery subtle sparkle that's only really noticeable in direct light. And the shape is terrific in use. ;-)
And, fwiw, I couldn't give a flip less about Twilight ... haven't read a vampire book since Queen of the Damned, probably over 10 years ago. lol So don't be too hung up on the "vampire" thing, if you're not into it. It's really just a beautiful piece of silicone!

Metis said it isnt a unique form- what toy is it the same shape as?
I didnt catch that.. sorry if I just missed it. I think it looks nice but I have a handful of tantus stuff and wouldn't want to buy the same thing again in a different color (even though I love the glittery tantus stuff I have)

It's the same design as the Sire. Which is a really fun form if you like more realistic shapes and a wee bit of girth. (My boyfriend has the Sire. I tried it once. And almost stole it from him.)

From a marketing standpoint, it's genius. I'm not a Twilight fan at all, and I've come across discussions related to this toy dozens of times in my non-sex-toy related Internet surfing.

We surround ourselves with friends who are open to the same adventurous open mindedness. Sometimes we need to reach out and engage the rest of the population.

I think there's a real market for sex toys that tie into pop culture.

I own it, and I honestly dislike twilight rather intensely. However it's a lovely dildo and looks great in a harness (woo strap on sex) and because it's vampire inspired I run around wearing my strap on and yelling "I'M DRACULA WITH BOOBIES"
