Spareparts Pete Material

I have been considering picking up a pair of these, but I'm concerned about the material. The reviews say it is like swimsuit material, but none say it's uncomfy. I can't imagine wearing something like a speedo under my clothing all day. Does it breathe?

It is 88% Nylon and 12% Spandex jersey. It reminds me of either swimsuit fabric or lycra and I don't feel it breathes that well.
I won't wear anything other than cotton underwear, so I personally would never wear this all day - I like my parts to be able to breathe.

It's very comfortable to wear, but I agree that it doesn't breathe well. However, I had the Freestyle jock and it wasn't an issue. I contacted SpareParts and they informed me that they had plans to offer the Pete line in a more breathable, natural fabric. So you may want to wait if you're interested.

That is great news! I will be on the lookout for those. Thanks!

If it is the same material as the Joque you don't' have anything to worry about, that is great against the skin.

Any developments on this? Love my Pete trunks, but I'm still curious about how they'd be with a more natural fabric.

The fabric isn't the same as our harnesses, it's a little different. The fabric is breathable and often it's actually the heat created between the body and the packer that makes the product feel like it isn't so breathable. Because of this we recently made changes to all styles of the PETE UnderWearâ„¢ line. We removed two regular fabric panels and replaced them with two soft light weight mesh panels. This facilitates better body heat release, by allowing heat to flow around the packer and out, making it more breathable.

I hope this helps answer you question.

Also, Kindred is correct. We are very excited to be releasing a natural fiber version of the PETE UnderWearâ„¢ line later this year. Stay tuned!

So, are those going to be made of cotton?
