Ha ha. Since I haven't received a DR for this, I guess I have no choice but to just buy it. But if I order it now, it will arrive when I have a house full of guests. Decisions. Hmmm...

I will never pay out that kind of price for a toy that isn't rechargeable. So it holds no interest at all for me in that way. Although, I am curious to read your review, Tuesday!

I don't know if I'm alone in thinking this... but honestly? The rechargeable battery is always going to be the shortest-lifespan part of a rechargeable vibe. Just with cell phones, I'm on my third new battery on the same 5-year-old smart phone---if I just had to toss the phone each time instead of replacing the battery, my pocketbook would be pretty unhappy.

If I'm spending a lot on a toy, I like it to have a long life... so with something like this, there's the ability to just use your own rechargeable batteries, and replace them when they get old. So the vibrator as a whole is going to have a much longer life.

Also, my husband said the rechargeable battery would not be able to conduct the electro stimulation. I don't know if he's just talking nonsense, but that's what he said. So that may be the reason it's not rechargeable.

We decided to opt for a battery operated model first as the cost at retail would have skyrocketed to over $350.00. The medicval version of this device, without vibration, is rechargeable, but it is also an FDA approved device prescribed by Doctors, retails at $595.00...so, it was strictly an economic decision. Also, the Intensity operates for 8.5 hours on a set of batteries. Intensity 2 will most likely be rechargeable as the costs of the circuit boards will go down the more we sell and produce. Amazing how things have changed...8-10 years ago we could not give rechargeables away for free, now it's a must-have.

I knew my husband didn't know what he was talking about!!

Good information. I'd much rather pay the going price than $350 or even $600. That's a mighty hefty price tag.

That's great to know! I really was wondering why it wasn't rechargeable, but I assumed it was due to the electro-sex aspect of it. It's good information to know, so thanks for sharing with us Al!

You guys must have pioneered some interesting new circuitry! I'm really excited for the results. (And, for what it's worth, little old fashioned me doesn't mind batteries )

Thanks for adding to this discussion. It's good to hear background information like this.

Is the electrical stimulation on this version the same as on the medical device?

Also, are you considering a version? that plugs into the wall?

The electrical stimulation is exactly the same as on the medical device, except the controller is quite different as it is not built into the unit....it's on a cord... and the second generation of Intensity will be rechargeable.
