I just got a new fun factory toy and it seems to breathe at me while charging. The lights kind of sigh on and then go off... only to come back on in a few seconds, all while it's still plugged in and no one's touching it. After awhile, the lights kind of flicker around the three buttons in a clockwise circle. Is this normal?

I don't have a Fun Factory toy but I am looking forward to purchasing one soon. I'll come back and post what mine does when I receive it.

How did you even notice that? I am pretty sure that the buttons on my Big Boss are facing down while charging, the magnet thingy has to be facing up or it stops charging.

My curiosity made me check my toy last night.Yep, the lights on my toy go on and of while it is charging.

Yep. The lights on my G4 Tiger and my Fou do the same thing.

The G4 Elegance we received today was DOA. No life to speak of. Given that the Elegance has been discontinued by Fun Factory, this particular one might have been idle for a very long time.
We initially were charging it, seeing the red light on the magnetic connector stay solid like we would for the Duke bullet, but the buttons on the Elegance were not lit at all.
After an hour of this, we were moving around the toy and the charger. At that point, the buttons on the Elegance started to light up in sequence, then fade back to off in the reverse sequence. It appears we didn't have the magnetic connector of the charger seated properly.
This would have been fine except we noticed that the red light on the magnetic connector was also flashing on and off in concert with the lighting of the buttons on the Elegance. This is true for both the original wall charger (round, flat head) and the later wall charger (round, dome head).
Is this normal? I disconnected the charger after a couple of hours of this, hoping to see the Elegance show some signs of life other than the flashing button lights, but it still won't turn on. We'll leave it charging overnight, but I was curious whether this was normal. An email has already been sent to Fun Factory USA to see if we are overlooking something.

Maybe your magnetic charger wasn't properly connected to your toy? Was the cable dangling and not leveled with the charger?

I've charged my Drei several times with two different chargers (the flat back wall charger and the USB dome-shaped charger) and I did not have any problem at all. While the Drei's charging, the lights on the three control buttons flash in sequence until the toy's fully charged.

What does the magnetic connector look like when charging the Drei? Does it start out with the red light flashing or solid red? Once the Drei is charged, does this red light turn off?

Not sure if it is similar to the G4 vibrators, but I am trying to get a feel as to whether the Elegance we have is defective or just taking a LONG time to charge because it is very likely new old stock.

The red LED on the magnetic charger should have a steady glow while charging -- if it's properly connected to the toy. The red LED will flicker IF the connection is bad. I don't remember whether the red light on the charger will automatically turn off or not when charging is done (I don't pay much attention to it, sorry!), but the lights on the Drei's control buttons will definitely stop flashing once the toy's fully charged.
