A novelty brand with a few higher-end collections?

Greetings,

This question isn't intended as an insult to the product or any of it's enthusiasts. Please don't take it as such. I've seen some of their products sold in Spencer's Gifts, and the name is California Exotic Novelties, hence this might be obvious.

Is the general consensus that they're considered to be a novelty and/or "gift" brand? And, if so, are they also generally deemed cheaper and/or "lower-end?" (I kind of equate "Doc Johnson, Vibratex, Screaming O, and Hustler in the same category.)

I saw some commentary which mentioned how they were trying to "upgrade," with the Couture and L'amour lines. Would one say this is accurate?

I don't think their brand is "low end". I think it's just that in comparison to other brands that advertise themselves as being luxury toys one would think so. there's plenty cal exotics and doc Johnson stuff that works and works well, and I tend to prefer them even since they tend not to cost me an arm to buy. Haven't tried vibratex or heard of hustler though.

I can't believe I missed this post. Sorry for being so late to the party!

I have a ton of CalEx products and I have to say that I've been very impressed with most of it. I think every brand has their niche, but what amazes me about CalEx is they are truly the only company that has a little bit of everything, for everyone. They don't relegate themselves to just vibrators or harnesses, you know?

Don't let a price tag be the judge and jury for a toy -- I've had some really expensive toys that I absolutely hated and toys under $20 that I never wanted to get rid of -- at the end of the day, it's all about preference.

Thankfully, Eden has reviews for these products so you can explore through another's eyes before you make that leap!
