Before I submit anything - I was wondering if there would be an interest in a new club that seemed like a good one to me.......

It would be called Newbie's Nook, and would be for the newcomers on the site to meet with those of us who have been here for awhile. Issues covered would be program explanations, review and mentor programs, forum topics and posting, point farming, voting & comments on reviews....etc. There would also be games, trivia and a Q&A period.

So-those who are new and older members---what do you think???

I had suggested a Big Brother/Sister type program a few years ago similar to this concept. Basically, all interested new contributors would be paired up with someone in the community that has reasonable experience with the site in general. My understanding is that EF liked that idea but that it has morphed somewhat. I have not heard an update for awhile now. It is different from the Mentor program in that it is not simply for reviewers.

I'm not really new anymore, and I would definitely benefit from this.
I'd love to get some one on one on how to do good video reviews and other things like that.

I've seen you mention this quite a few times Kindred and every time I read it, I always agree. I think it's a great idea!

I LOVE the sound of this! I felt quite welcomed here when I joined almost a year ago, but it would be nice to have a nice squad of contributors showing newbies the ropes and giving them a wonderful warm welcome to the site!

We're actually working on something to address all of this, so while it's great that you're wanting to get so involved, once we have what we planned in place it would make the idea for a club like this obsolete.

Just continue being awesome and answering questions as they come in on the forum or through your students.
