The Women in Lust theme is broad enough to include a really wide variety of stories. Rachel talked a bit about that:
Women in Lust is a book that I like to think of as having a little something for everyone. There's kink aplenty, for those who are into that sort of thing (somehow I suspect Naked Reader Book Club types will be into it), including outdoor sex and spanking and even knife play in "Beneath My Skin" by Shanna Germain, but there's also sweet tender moments and couples and couplings, and a sexy cowboy. I feel like this is an anthology that can be enjoyed by anyone, no matter your gender or sexual orientation. It has a couple of older women than I usually see, in my back to college story "Hot for Teacher" and in "Unbidden" by Brandy Fox. It's got travel and adventure. It's got humor and voyeurism in one, in the case of "Ode to a Masturbator" by Aimee Herman. Some people have noted that the theme is a loose one, and I agree, but to me that's a good thing. I enjoyed mixing the stories up and trying to talk about all sorts of women's experiences, ones with raging libidos and ones like the narrator of "Queen of Sheba" by Jen Cross, who don't always even know what's going on with them or their partners. That story is a particular favorite, with the narrator wondering why Jimmy is so into eating her out. Jimmy, who we never hear from directly, is a fascinating and sexy character to me. Jen Cross writes, " At first, I thought Jimmy was just really into foreplay. He’d say, “Can I touch you?” And before I was done nodding, he’d have reached out a calloused hand to my body, maybe resting it on one of my thighs or against my belly for a second, but he was always only interested in my pussy. His eyes would glaze a little, he’d moisten his lips, and get focused like a cat." To me that's part of the hotness here, that it's about these women as the stars of the stories, but just as much it's about their partners, what they do to them, for them, with them.
