Did it take yall to hit your first milestone (the 100 review mark, it looks like)? Also, after that, were you more or less motivated to keep it going and did it take you a longer or shorter time to make it from 100 to 200 reviews? Same question, 200-300 reviews? And for Lauren (congratulations on such an incredible amount of reviews, btw - when are you gonna make it to 500? J/K!), how long did it take you to make it to 400? How many of you are also mentors? How many of you went through the mentor program or, if it didn't exist at the time you started writing reviews, was there anythiing similar and did you participate in that or did you just have to figure it out on your own? What motivates you to keep 'em coming (the reviews) so regularly? What is a good way to motivate one's self to keep at it (especially with a VERY limited budget)? How do you get quicker at turning em out? Is it simply practice, practice, practice, or are there any techniques/tricks of the trade/etc? Anyway, congrats to all of you! I can only dream of one day accomplishing a fraction of what you all have both individually and as a group. You all inpsire and amaze me. Cheers!
How long...?

I've been averaging 100 reviews every 6 months or so, and it's taken about the same amount of time to reach each milestone. The biggest motivational factor for me is seeing people be helped in their decision making and finding my reviews to be very helpful, that's a big part of why I keep reviewing. As for the limited budget, I would set money aside, participate in things that earned me gift cards (before the points), and wait for sale coupons and make one larger purchase rather than a bunch of smaller ones most of the time. That or I would buy one or two things at a time.
When I started, there was no mentor program. I looked around at other reviews for the same or similar products I was writing on to see what kind of information should/shouldn't be included and sort of figured the rest out on my own. I am a mentor now and I enjoy it a lot. As for turning the reviews out quickly, once you've written enough reviews for a type of product, you get a good feel for what needs to be in the review without having to stop and check all the time, so that helps speed the process up some.
And if you ever need help with something while writing a review or anything else, don't hesitate to shoot me a message

I too am very interested in all of this, as someone who is new to reviewing. Thank you to ¡Sam (aka Jul!a) for answering, I'd be very interested to read anyone else's thoughts if they would also post

It's taken me a bit longer than most but then again I am into everything they will let me stick my nose in...takes time away actually writing reviews. Still I tink it took aout the same amount of time to hit 100 as it did to hit 200, it really depends on your determination and the depth of your pocket book!
I am a sort of part time mentor in that I will open a class if asked but generally I want to give my students my full attention so I keep the classes very small. The mentor program is amazing but wasn't around when I started. I was mentored mostly by the kind and fairly gentle reviewers and staff.
What keeps me motivated is the great responses I get from my reviews...I like showing off and being the center of attention so this kind of feeds a need allowing me to step out of the spotlight in other areas of my life. It sort of balances me and makes me feel good.
If you have limited budget look for the great sales and when you get the chance for some free shipping take it! Sometimes saving up a bit longer to get to that free shipping is totally worth it. Also get involved in everything...it can earn you great points and you'll meet some great people for when the funds are lean.
Like Sam I amalways open to questions from reviewers new and old! Just drop me a note and if I can help I will, though you will get the general hard sell for my Eden Lit Club in the bargain....

I got to 100 in 4 months. Apparently broke a record or something.
I feel like the first milestone is the hardest to reach due to lack of experience and trying to work your way up, get into different programs for assignments, and such.
It's taken me 8 to get to 200, but that's because I left for a while, but I've written 60+ in about a month.
Oh, and 10 days from now will be a year since my first review!

100 seems like so many, let alone 400! Wow I hope I can say I've written that many one day

I'm a newbie, have 5 reviews under my belt, but hope to be a milestone reviewer one day.
