Same here. My partner comes from a family where jewelry is given for every holiday. I have a silver necklace (with an adorable little owl charm) and my engagement ring. I don't wear jewelry other than those, except for a bunch of metal in my ears.
He finally learned that I'd rather get a book or go see a movie than receive jewelry.
