I, too, once had a fabulous collection. They all were eventually lost or given away. I had a HUGE solid junk of jade. It weight fifteen pounds. Someone stole it during a house party when I went to get more soft drinks. Never found out who it was.

The BF is begging for me to make dinner. We haven't eaten all day and he is smelling the stuffed bell peppers I started earlier! I'll check back in when it's all finished =)

So, I'm no ToyTimeTim, but here's my Metal Worx analysis (based on a 2 minute inspection, and an 11-minute test-ride as I drove home)

They seem a little light to be 100% stainless steel (but I'm not totally competent to judge).

The craftsmanship (or plating?) is quite good, I can't find any bump or spot that would make them painful to insert, if they were an insertable shape. They have divots (like visegrip marks?) where the magnets were attached to the shafts.

The magnets are magnetic but the rest of the clamps are not.

These things have bite!

Overall, I like'em (but they're too intense for me to wear for long stretches.)

I am sure they are only plated, looking around the web I found a couple of comments stating as much.

Glad the finish is good though.

Also, if I get a few more people backing up Kindred that they're not all poorly plated like Tim's and Mr&Mrs Pegs', I'll be willing to try another one.

Oh that sucks, that's happened too. I never loan anything to anyone anymore.

I was livid. That thing was worth an incredible amount of money and I had plans to make an entire jade jewelry set---rings, earrings, necklace, anlet and bracelets out of it. I knew I should have locked it up.

Thieving bastards!! I hate it when people steal just because they can.

Yeah, I'm glad too.

I wonder how they managed to drop the ball on the one you got?

I noticed the sticker on the back saying "colors may vary" ... which kind of cracked me up, for a metal product.

Did yours say that, or was it referring to the 'gemstones' in the ends of the clamps?

I had a friend steel my leather coat back in JR high, he was a bit of a bad ass so I never did anything about it. About ten years later I seen him at a party, wearing my coat. I walked over to him, looked down and said hello. Fucker ran like hell and I never seen him again. lol Just the look on his face made it all worth it.
