Along the way, reviews themselves started to morph and change. Initially, you had only the standard format to review in. Ratings were optional, and extra bits you could add were minimal. Eventually the extended template was created, allowing for more in depth descriptions broken up into relevant sections. With time came the tags. Voting on reviews has changed too. In the beginning, anybody could vote with or without an account, but voting was private so you couldn't see who cast what vote. A few years ago, voting became public. Standards for reviews have also changed quite a bit since the program's inception. If you take a look at older reviews, we used to think that a lot less overall was a lot more useful. But like most programs, our reviews evolved over time to include more information, pictures, and even videos.

standard was the first type of review i ever did. didn't know about the other type until it was suggested in thecomments that i use extended next time, so i did.
