I haven't figured out how to overlook it and I get the talk about my daughter being bi now because of me. Some of my friends talk about the whole, "what if your daughter wants to submit and get beat" crap constantly or "does she know what you write" and of course does she know you write about sex and toys"...I can't win...lol

I lust after inking my body but I have to really really feel amazing about the subject matter before I would etch it permanently on my body....I want to take the time and really get comfortable with the idea like you all did. That and I'm allergic to pain....

I get that a lot too. I've twelve tattoos, and no one can beleive that I have that many as I seem so clean cut.

But I think of it like this. I might look clean cut. But that is just the surface. Under it all I wear the funkyest knickers ... more
lol...I love it!

Yes and I am so thankful for it. That's what I talk about when I share info about the club to my friends. So many writers need a safe haven like this.

People are just idiots from what I've been able to tell. There's nothing wrong with your daughter enjoying being with both sexes if she's old enough, there's nothing wrong with anybody wanting to be submissive in a relationship, and there's nothing wrong with body art.

Which actually just made me flash back to an argument I had gotten into with an ex of mine. He liked my tattoos sometimes, but only in specific situations. We were talking about tattoos in general and I asked him if he would ever get one and his answer was no, because he wanted to be a good role model for his kids. I ripped him a new one for that, especially since at that point he was claiming to want to spend the rest of his life with me and have kids with me and I had multiple tattoos.

It is a mystery. And that is the bottom line.

I beleive as long as your child/children understand the whole situation, they are better informed to understand what goes on in their mind and in their bodies.

Also I would glow with pride and thank them for the compliment...being Bi-sexual and comfortable with your sexuality is amazing and any parent 'responsible' for this outcome is doing something right!!

Perhaps... but I suppose that's natural for a parent. I don't let it bother me too much.

And, yes, Airen, make sure you feel amazing about the subject matter. The fact that mine has such an elegant and interesting story is why I'm still happy with mine, even now that I wish I hadn't actually etched it on my skin. It would have made a fine wall-hanging...

On the bright side, telling the story lets me filter a prospective partner, because if they're not interested in the themes of the story they're not going to be interested in much of what I ever think.

She doesn't know about my sex life. People just don't understand how I keep it from her. She knows I write content that she can't read. When my book hit the first thing she said was please write a book I can read. So I'm working on some middle-grade fantasy for her that she is in love with. As far as the toys she doesn't know. She has a running joke that I am an arms dealer from all of the boxes I get...lol

Stay away from your lower ankle. I passed out, threw up and broke the man's chair. Yet, all the rest of my tattoos on my feet, tickled and did not hurt.

Ok so we are heading into October for our next meeting, what should our topics be? Spooky, nostalgic cause it's harvest time, sizzling cause the air has a bit of a nip to it?

I love that...Im tucking that one away for future use. I think she is great and I am proud that she even came out about it. AT her age I was so damn confused that I didn't talk about anything. I didn't come out til my mid to early twenties.

My advice for avoiding pain is get things only with short strokes. Mine had one long line, and that's the only part that made me shudder. (I made him take it in strokes to close the shape.)

See? You've done your job..your child is comfortable with herself and trusts you enough to share it with you. BRAVO!!

Besides, is not a parents job to accept that their children are happy????

And if that means that they are not confused and worried about what their parents think of them, and are able to just talk about what they are going through... to me that would mean you are a good parent raising a good kid.

I agree with Airen!!! Thank them for the compliment!

Ehh, my lower ankle hurt, but didn't make me pass out. My problem with anything below my calves is that they make my legs twitch while I'm getting the tattoo and I have a super hard time keeping still enough for the artist.

Noted!! I think I'd prefer smaller tats with special meaning...at least that's my current thought, could change tomorrow.
