I've fallen and I can't get up,
I lay there on the floor and look at the world from a different perspective.
The pain sharpens my focus and I think of you.
In my mind's eye you are as strong as an oak tree, as big as the sun,
You shine so bright it burns me even as I reach for you.
Colors, tastes, feelings, are all subtly changed here on the floor,
My skin feels bruised and broken with the sorrow.
I have no physical scars, no outward markings to document the years,
