I'm starting a new blog that will only have my erotic/risque/kinky/po rnographic/romantic types of poems on it, for the more adult reader, though not all of it will be nsfw (but a majority will be). I've used tumblr, blogger, & wordpress in the past. Obviously, I don't think that tumblr is useful for this because I won't be posting anything but my own poetry and may once in a blue moon a particularly lovely poem by one of those famous dead poets whose work is public domain now & which I can just c&p from some other webpage or a document I already have it in on my hard drive. That leaves blogger & wordpress. wordpress can be a pain in the ass, imho, but has so many more features. On the other hand, this is a fairly straightforward blog, so is wordpress needed? the one thing from wordpress I really like is the stats page, but I can just add a widget for that on blogger, right? I actually love both blogger & wordpress, but for very different reasons. Just can't figure out which one is more suited to this blog. Oh, and btw, what do you guys think of the name "Poetica Erotica" for the name? Anyway... the main question: BLOGGER OR WORDPESS for my new erotica poetry blog?
Which hosting site should I use for my newest blog?

I really like wordpress, but I've heard about them shutting down new blogs lately with adult material and no real warning. I would go with Blogger just to be safe.

I'd heard that too, another reason why I was considering blogger, since they have the option to just put the adult content warning up.

I went with blogger. It's up and running w/ 3 posts, including 2 poems, one of which is pretty hot, if i do say so myself, & the other is truly filthy, imho. Poetic Erotica

Awesome! Glad to see that you chose a host. I agree with the Blogger choice. Wordpress is against adult blogs.

I must warn ya, blogger's got soooooo many glitches that if you plan to create content on a strict schedule (or a daily basis) and especially if you plan to include photos, blogger will not be a good choice. Also, they've been shutting down even the slightest adult blog left and right! They're just "disappearing" go to google and search disappearing blogs and the tons of people hurting over theirs going missing and never being able to recover it will make you cringe! The only reason I've not transferred everything to word press is because I tried and had not a slight clue how the hell to operate that crap! LOl. I am desperately trying to transfer because I have way too much VERY important content to just lose it. Blogger won't upload photos for going on 3 months now. Ever once in a while it will, but not often.

Blogger is easier to use, and if you don't need the extra features of wordpress, no point in dealing with it.

We started on Wordpress, but have since moved our blog to blogger. That being said though, if it "disappears" as someone mentioned above, we also bought the rights to the domain name and can easily move the entire thing to the stand alone website.
Not everyone lives with an uber-geek like I do though.
I say go with the one you like better...I voted for blogger because I find it easier to use and make "pretty". Just watch out for the "monetizing" feature...you have to "sign" a thing saying you won't post anything adult-rated on the blog! I have 2 blogs for this reason...my "vanilla blog" is monetized with all sorts of ads and junk (I don't have many followers, so in 2+ months I've earned a whopping $1.49...they don't pay until you hit $10, so I haven't decided if it is really worth it or not yet) and a second that is all about the adult-content...and labeled as such, complete with warning label.

I voted blogger, but only because I have heard it is easier than Word Press

I know this response is a bit late, but I strongly recommend to anyone interested in adult blogging to buy their own domain and hosting. It's very easy to set up and not that expensive; you can find plenty of guides on how to do it through a Google search. The freedom to do whatever you want on your own space is worth the money. You don't need to worry about having your blog shut down or hidden "we own anything you post" clauses in the TOS.
If anyone is interested, I use Namecheap for domain registration and Hostgator for hosting (Hostgator allows adult content). Both companies have wonderful customer service and never given me problems.

I personally prefer WordPress over Blogger. They have much better themes, IMO.

This response is a bit late as well...
But I love Wordpress.
I love to read and comment on other people's blogs, but I find that Blogger's commenting ability is so frustrating!!! I never can get those "type in the following characters" thingies to protect from spam. So spend far too much time trying to make them work!!!

I have been using Blogger for years! Our entire triad has a blogger account.
As long as you set it to adult content, they won't delete it on you
