Need help with my new Wordpress blog

Contributor: Hot 'N Sexy TexasMama Hot 'N Sexy TexasMama
I wanted to start a blog and because I am most familiar with the Wordpress system, I went there and started my blog (I have yet to do the first message on the front page - but I've done an about me page, etc).

Here is a link to the blog so far:

I paid $25 extra so I could have it hosted and not worry about the fact it is an adult blog.

But I have some problems. For some reason, I can not find a way to share affiliate links on it when I recommend products (I wanted to link to my reviews so folks could read them).

I'm also not sure if I need to do something to have it considered "adult content" and labeled so folks know ahead of time.

Can someone please help me?

Hmmmm, I use Wordpress a lot too. Did you go to the plugins section in your administrator to look for an "Adult Content" labeler? I don't have one on mine, but I would imagine that is where you could find it. I'll look around on my administrator and see what I come up with.
For the links where are you trying to share them? On a page or a post?

Go to your administrator and go to new plugin's and type in "Adult Content Warning" and a ton of plugins come up to add to your site.

Thanks - I did ask them to make it adult content when I couldn't figure it out - but I can't seem to enter affiliate codes - I get taken to a page where they say what types of codes they use or something?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please. I'm assuming you are using Wordpress dot org.

There is a difference between Wordpress dot org and Wordpress dot com. My understanding has always been that you can't use affiliate links, or earn profit in anyway (including compensation for blog posts, sidebar links, review products etc.) through Wordpress dot org.

If they are hosting your blog, they have full ownership of it and can shut it down at anytime for breach of rules, just like Blogger.

For Wordpress dot com you own your domain and all it's content, but are simply using the Wordpress software.

This. (Except for this: "My understanding has always been that you can't use affiliate links, or earn profit in anyway (including compensation for blog posts, sidebar links, review products etc.) through Wordpress dot org." I think she meant Wordpress.com in this sentence)

It looks like you purchased a domain for the blog, but it still seems like it is on Wordpress.com. Is that correct?

Basically, if it was on Wordpress.org, you'd log-in via link

If it's on Wordpress.com/, you log-in via wordpress.com/ . If it's via Wordpress.com, then you still are under Wordpress's Terms of Service for adult content which may lead to your blog getting deleted.

Wordpress.com = The free hosting site that Wordpress runs
Wordpress.org = The free, embeddable hosting software that you can download onto your own site

Does that make sense?
