Blogger’s Block is more common than you might think. Staring at a blank screen can be scary; especially if you have a deadline (whether that be self-imposed or not). Sometimes the best thing to do when the screen isn’t filling up is to walk away and do something else. But what else can you do to try to inspire yourself to write?
* Change your environment. For some of us, whose sites are not blocked by public wifi filters, we can go to any wifi hot spot and work. Getting out to a coffee shop or other location can help inspire writing that you never knew you had in you.
* Comment on forums. This can be a gold mine of content if you view it that way. Can you build on your short response to someone else and make it a blog post? Most of the time I bet you could.
* Expand your niche. If you’ve been writing about a particular thing for awhile, maybe it’s time to spread the scope a bit. A topic that is too narrow most definitely leads to too many white screen moments.
* Start a new blog. Some blogs die. There’s not always a reason. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Start something new, change your topic, broaden your scope and move ahead with a new viewpoint on the world.
What else can you do to jumpstart your inspiration?
