Eden Lives Healthy--Steps Counted Contest!

Contributor: BBW Talks Toys BBW Talks Toys
The weather is nice and it's time to be OUTSIDE!

Taking extra steps is the best, easiest, most efficient way to get some extra calories burned! So, why not make it worth your while, eh? Beginning Monday, June 13, for TWO WEEKS, I want you to wear a pedometer and track your steps! You can pick up an inexpensive pedometer at a dollar store or at your local "big box" store or even on Amazon! To keep track of them, you can use the Step Tracker on the Fitness Tracking page on your Spark People profile. Remember! SparkPeople isn't just for weight loss, but simply can be a great tool to track your fitness and calories for a healthy lifestyle!

On Sunday evening, June 26, send me a PM with your accumulative steps for the two weeks! The contributor with the most steps in two weeks will win a $50 EF Gift Card! And who can't use one of those bad boys?

Okay, I'm done being pedantic.

Sounds like a fun idea, although, in my experience, pedometers more measure how much you jiggle rather than how far you walk

Great contest idea, BBWTT! Keeping count of something always makes me extra mindful of all the little choices in my day.

Is this contest for Spark People users only, or can we (for example) take pictures of our pedometer faces at the end of the day and just keep track ourselves, in Excel or something? If it's necessary to be on Spark People I probably won't enter the contest, but I'll still count my steps while everyone else is. Hooray for group accountability, right?

I know it's grammatically incorrect. The name just seems to work for us though.

I good pedometer attached to the right place can be more accurate.

I'll have to get another pedometer. Mine is in my ipod and I don't know if the batteries will last all day.

Awesome contest btw!

Totally forgot to pick up a pedometer. I'm walking in solidarity, though. Happy counting, all you lucky ones that remembered.

I probably won't win, but I am trying as much as I can, even if I only walked 759 yesterday (although I forgot to wear it for a while there)

sent in my total! its not much but I've been having a flare up with my fibro so I haven't been able to be too active. I tried to increase my steps gradually by walking to the mailbox and back and taking out the trash to the complex trash area.
