Hi! Welcome!

Okay, so if you've seen other forums like DeliciousSurprise's Vodka Infusion Workshop or Emma's (Girl With Fire) Massage Candles/Body Sugar workshops, it's just a very focused, specialized meeting. These would simply center around aspects of health

They also wouldn't necessarily be monthly, they'd be whenever someone wanted to host one. You'll want to contact Sam if you're interested in hosting one.

For example, if you wanted to do gardening, you'd teach about how to start a garden, the kinds of soil, seeds, pots (if you're discussing balcony/deck gardening), plant food, etc.

This is the first announcement. There will be a thread announcing it (provided Sam's OK) and calling for people to step up to host.

Sure! Growing a garden promotes eating fresh and healthy.

My husband wanted me to share this youtube video inspired by the reference to the Vodka Infusion workshop.

The chorus, which I had trouble understanding is,"Drinking is good for love."

Indeed it does. I just watched a movie about someone who lost weight and eliminated several health problems by juicing fruits and veggies and only eating that for two months. And others were inspired to do it to with similarly positive results. Now my husband wants to do it.

And I did think of my garden as I watched that movie.

If you grow herbs and vegetables. I grow flowers. Although all the digging and weeding and such is good exercise.

It can be an incredible amount of exercise if you turn your 400 sq ft garden without a rototiller like I do.

So is everyone here trying to lose weight or quit smoking? Does anyone else have other health issues that they are dealing with?

Personally, I'm pretty out of shape so I've been trying to find little things that I can do for exercise that aren't hard on me. I've also got a pinched sciatic nerve so that makes doing things difficult sometimes.

My husband has the same problem. Its really limited what exercise he can do. Right now all he does is warm water aerobics.

For the most part it's the desire to be healthier. There are some people who deal with depression, IBS, fibromyalgia, etc.

Ouch! I'm sorry.

I've recently started doing squats or toe raises or some other little exercise whenever I find myself standing around waiting for something. Say I'm heating something in the microwave, I can do some squats or lunges or simply dance around instead of just standing still. I don't know if it's helping, but it certainly can't hurt.

I've been trying to walk everywhere I can. It's low impact enough that it doesn't really bother my back unless I'm doing it all day long. Unfortunately, just walking doesn't keep my thighs from feeling the way they do right now after all the squatting I was doing this weekend stripping paint off my car lol.
