Do it yourself or DIY…For a lot of folks this is a way of life. Not everyone has the money to pay someone to fix a problem they may have. The problem is that not everyone has the tools or knowledge to do some things. This is my main focus for the Eden DIY Club. My vast knowledge and back ground of fixing things to save money has served me well; And I want to share the knowledge to the great community members of EdenFantasys.
We will look at ways to fix toys, make storage for said toys and anything else we can think of. Not only that but we will toss in some stuff around the house and garage. Things like, how to patch a hole in drywall or changing your own oil. Pretty much anything that does not require a degree in engineering or a mongo tool box.
Our first meeting will be on making a hands free lube/massage oil dispenser. I also have neat idea for using old lube bottles with pump tops for toy cleaners that can be used for massage oils too.
I hope that everyone will come and join the fun with me. I am sure that we all can learn from each other to better our lives. Plus, saving a few bucks by doing it yourself will be a rewarding experience and give you more money for toys.
You can use this thread for suggesting ideas you would like to see, questions you may have or anything else you can think of. You can also message me onsite or email me at dwtims@gmail.com less

I wish I was handy and stuff because I feel like this is going to be the best club ever.

According to my papers they checked me in at 10:32 (I arrived at 10:16 but didn't get waited on until then) and they were completed at 11:21. As far as I could tell, there were 2 cars ahead of me in the lube line and one in the tire line. I went about my business grocery shopping so I didn't have to wait any extra time on them besides waiting on them to take my name and what I needed for the day.

That is one of the topics on my list, it only takes a few tools and only about 20 minutes or so to do. The upfront investment might be a bit expensive but once you have them you will get the money back after two or three oil changes by DIY.
Flat tires could be done as well, it does require a bit more knowledge but the info is readily available as far as where to place your jack and torque of lug nuts etc.. Of course I can help with that one too. I set my wife up right with a nice floor jack and a breaker bar so even her small body can get the lug nuts off.
What's great about both of these topics is they relate to each other; both require you to jack up the car.
We will most certainly go over proper tools for various jobs, that is one thing that keeps us safe and our knuckles from harm. less

My cost was $36.42 excluding tax and that was for 5 Qts of oil, oil filter, and their fee.

How new? I know my 2010 Toyota Corolla, will pop up a message about low tire but I didn't know it was required you go to a professional. I go because I have to, but I prefer if I didn't.

Sounds like a great idea...and glad it will be around afterwards to read since that isn't a great time for me either. I will definitely keep up with it as time goes on! Thanks!!

2008 and up. And I may have misspoke. They do have sensors inside of them...one of our's is broken and it happened while we were either...OH that's right...that's what happened! Ha, now I remember. He went to get new tires and the person didn't put place it correctly on the machine that balances tires and it broke the sensor. So, now we have to figure out how to prove it was their fault so we can get it fixed. They're $200 to replace.

Why not, both would be great ideas for sure. Maybe we could get together and you could send me pic's before hand and I can show you, and everyone else, how to fix it.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it, but I'll try. This club sounds like it could be helpful. Maybe I'll learn a few things. I like to learn something new every day.

No, you need thread tape. You can get it any hardware store. Just feed it onto the threads of each of the connections and you'll get a tighter seal.

I'm so excited about this club. I have yet to really participate in any clubs here at Eden, but this is definitely one I would be interested in. I'm always making things for shelving and storage space in my room. Great idea for a club and I look forward to it!
