DIY hula hoops?

Contributor: discotits discotits
Who hates spending money on things you could probably make yourself? I know I do.

I DIY all kinds of things, but especially hula hoops. Weird? Maybe.

This is an LED hoop that I made. I make a bunch of them to sell, actually.

LED 1

LED 2

I could also just do a DIY on putting LEDs in things...because glowing things make everything better.

I've also made non-LED hoops, which are a lot easier (obv.)

I don't have pictures, but one has mustaches on it, and others include mardi gras themed and ocean themed.

I don't know if there are any other hoopers on here, but if anyone would be interested, I can do a tutorial. Maybe as a gift for a child or something?

How do you power the LEDs? Did you include batteries?

I very seldomly DIY things beause I'm not that skilled.

The one I own has a single rechargeable battery. The ones I make to sell uses a single disposable lithium battery, just because it is cheaper/easier to make.

This caught my interest because my kids keep asking for hula hoops (hoopaloops) and these look like they'd be taken care of better than the cheap plastic ones that keep ending up outside and breaking.
